I’m not a fan of Jeff Flake but this is good news if true. Tariffs were a bad idea when Trump first suggested them and they are a bad idea today.

I think this is an area where the relative moderates on both sides agree.

Good point, the moderates agree with each other and the extreme agrees with each other.

Tariffs are a tool that really only works to say hey im trying to be "proactive". Most of us and these politicians don't understand their ramifications.

That being said Democrats need to develop an economic message that revolves around the essence of us living in a global economy. Its essential in not juat economics is always a central theme but its essential to immigration.

This may require Democrats to cut ties with unions in policy formation. Regardless its gonna be difficult because the electorate doesn't understand the middle class union benefits for life job is gone

The bill passed... but largely symbolic, not binding...

Why do you think Dems don’t have an economic message that revolves around a global economy? Remember Trump blasting NAFTA and TPP? Maybe cutting ties to unions is prudent or reshaping them, but unions are a Rust Belt/NE issue.

Of course one of my senators would vote no. Not sure how David Perdue can speak with his mouth constantly kidding Trump's ass.

They don't talk about that stuff regularly. They have to focus on economics. Last election was an economy election and thats out of Hilary's wheelhouse
