Played a big school (Florida State), drafted in the 5th round by the Browns. Never played for them because of injuries and was claimed last year off waivers. Spent last season between the PS and active roster for the Texans (not much playing time). Has looked very good in camp this season. Could he and Howard (at guard) solidify that Left side?

Seth Payne, who is more objective than most of the guys covering the Texans, was speaking very highly of him this week.

He was able to get in front of a defender and impeded his progress. That's more than you can say for everyone post D.Brown. Did anyone catch that Bud light or whatever commercial? Wade Smith looks like a freaking Small Forward.

Looked good so far. I mean, it's preseason, and preseason lies, and it's preseason against the Lions, but still.

The Johnson-Howard-Fulton-Scharping-Henderson group didn't look terrible at all.

Thank God if it works out.

Johnson will be starter by week one. Or Howard. We'll be better for it.

Kahlil sucks and is made of glass. I think he'll get cut.

LOL Kahlil is this year's Tom Savage - O'Brien will be the last person in Houston to realize he sucks then pull him in the first half of the first game.

O'Brien isn't really a head coach but he plays one well on TV. His act played well at Penn State but vets know an act when they see one. Good thing for him he can pretend to be a head coach in Houston forever - there's no Tom Hanks chasing after him.

Johnson last night looked better than any LT post Brown.

Bill O’Brien was speaking in coach speak last night. It means he is going to turn the film on, read Watson’s endorsement and 63 will be starting Game 1.

Ya see it as BoB not wanting to name Johnson a starter this quick. Hopefully Johnson can build off of the practices and game. He looked good out there.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do when Martin returns. He’s missed all of training camp, coming off a bad season and playing for a new deal.

Martin shouldn’t start over Fulton at center in my opinion. Fulton’s best football in KC(he was regarded as potentially there best interior OL) was at the center position.

The Howard, Fulton, and Scharping interior is very much adequate.

Martin has never seemed to have the anchor strength we need in a center. I wasn't a fan of Fulton last year, but he's looked solid at Center. Hell, I like Mancz more than Martin also. Last night's starting line looked pretty damn solid.

Agreed, but they were better than adequate--I've never seen DW have so much time. My fear is that DET didn't have their best guys starting last night and we're getting a false sense of hope. I was watching it on my computer so I didn't rewind and watch individuals as much as I normally do.
