RIP, condolences to his friends and family.

They just announced on 10/1 the re-occourence of his cancer, noting that therapies had improved and they were optimistic. I wonder if the cancer was just spreading super rapidly, or it was that plus some kind of treatment side effect that lowered his immune system and he caught something? Just out of curiosity.

My entire career was built of this guy and Bill Gates' company. I heard about this while driving home a couple of hours ago and this tweet he he sent out just 2 weeks ago puts life in perspective (you just never know when the time will come...) :

Didnt realize how young he was until I saw the ticker; RIP.

Does anyone know if his family or like an outside group will take over the teams?

Chemo itself kills more people than the cancer does.

There's no way the Trail Blazers would ever leave Portland. It is probably the best supported franchise in the NBA.

They just need to hurry up and complete the purchase and then trade Lillard for something useful...like future draft picks...and just bite the bullet and start the rebuild.

That's a tad misleading -- untreated cancer is even worse than chemo -- but I don't mean to further (your) derail. Maybe you could start an anti-chemo thread in the Hangout. Probably have lots of sympathy, definitely from my household.
