Venom - 6.5 or 7/10. Better than I expected. It really could have been great had they focused more on some of the brock/venom aspect. The car/motocycle chase was comically bad.

    Sucker punch. 4/10

I didn't get it. Plenty of eye candy for me to stick around. Cgi was typical Snyder, who had been apparently making bad movies since been making bad movies.

Finally saw Hateful Eight. Big QT fan. It wasn't his best, but like the majority of his movies, the story was compelling and I was entertained throughout. 6.8/10.

i'm not sure how I rate that movie but it is worth seeing. It was well done and well acted. Interesting story line but walking out of the theater i just felt weird and uncomfortable.

Very good. If you like Ex Machina or Hardcore Henry you'll love this.

Hell or High Water - 8.5/10

Jeff Bridges was great in this. Had doubts watching Chris Pines act as a cowboy but he did pretty well.

I thought it was excellent, reminded me of Amadeus mixed with Barry Lyndon but much more vulgar.....

    Aquaman 3/10

Second half of the film is decent; first half of the film is so bad I nearly walked out.

Speaking of Jeff Bridges, am I really the first person to rate

Bad Times at the El Royale

Strong cast. I recommend this for anyone who likes Tarantino movies. Has a Tarantino feel. Drew Goddard (writer/director) is a writer, director, producer from Cloverfield, The Martian, Lost, Daredevil, World War Z, and more.

    Jeff Bridges
Jon Hamm is in it, too, with an interesting accent.
    Chris Hemsworth -- Thor
    Dakota Johnson
two other main characters who do a great job
plus, a young actress in Vice who reminds me of Summer Glau, the actress who played River Tam in Firefly

I agree. Venom was a little better than I expected...7ish out of 10. Maybe my low expectations made me rate it higher.

I just rewatched Solo: A Star Wars Story. I stand by my original take that this is a good Star Wars movie that was under-rated for whatever reason. I think a lot of the spill over hate for Episode 8 nailed it.

Yeah, I kinda forgot, too, until my brother recommended it.

It won't blow you away, but worth a watch. My complaint would be that there are a lot of characters that I liked, but not enough time to develop them all ... and somehow, suspense was lacking, given that is the main sell.

Agreed with both of these. Just watched Venom last night and it was surprisingly good. A tweak here or there and a sequel could absolutely stand up to the MCU.

I thought Solo was going to suck and it was the first Star Wars movie I didn’t see within opening week since episode 1. Didn’t see until it hit the Redbox. I liked the guy who played Han. It entertained and I’d look forward to a sequel if they made it.

It was the first Star Wars since 1 I had not seen in theaters also. I liked Han and the Deathstar blueprint movie better than the other two so far.

My wife and daughter wanted to see Crazy Rich Asians, I sort of watched it in the background while I was doing other things on the laptop. I give the film makers credit for making the female lead an econ professor at NYU, but there's only so much you can do to rework Cinderella. Maybe a 2 out of 10.

    Not sure if serious.

Venom: 6.9/ 10 - After seeing a couple posters on this thread that I like give it favorable reviews..
I finally said why the hell not for I saw fantastic 4 once, willingly

. Nowhere close to the turrible reviews. I felt time went by quickly, so I was engaged. However there was something missing. It was like playing Mortal Kombat on SNES with the blood replaced by sweat. But I would definitely watch again. Tom Hardy's venom voice 20/10. I found it better than his Bane and almost as good as his Alfie.
