http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y6ecq6tc Houston gets: Hayward, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown from Boston Boston gets: Chris Paul, Clint Capela
Doubt Boston would go for it, but much better than the Boston deal I came up with. How about this one: Rockets out: Clint Capela, Nene, 2020 2nd round pick(via memphis), 2021 1st Round pick Rockets in: Julius Randall, Lonzo Ball, J Okafor, La 2019 Pick (#4) Los Angelas out: Ingram, Kuzma, Bonga, 2020 2nd, 2021 1st, 2021 2nd, 2023 1st Los Angelas in: Anthony Davis New Orleans out: Davis, Randall, Okafor New Orleans in: Capela, Stephenson, Nene, Ingram, Kuzma, Bongo Lakers' 2020 2nd 2021 1st 2023 1st Rockets 2020 2nd 2021 1st Bring on the Hate!
I don’t think it’s realistic for the Celtics to trade Marcus Smart right now. They don’t have a PG on their roster. Rozier is a free agent and Kyrie is likely leaving. They do have draft picks and could draft one but even if they traded CP they would need depth at that position. I could see them possibly moving Horford though. We could possibly do some sort of combination of Eric Gordon, Chris Paul, and Capela for Hayward, Brown, and Horford plus a first round pick maybe. Though that would probably be asking for a lot.
See above, if Warriors are open to trading Green, then... Warriors gets: Capela, Clark Houston gets: Green http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y2efgwus
I think this would be a no Brainer for the rockets. Julius Randall rivers replacement plus the number 4 pick for capella and late round first. I'm just not sure NO would do it. Had to put bongo in the deal to make it work with the trade rules
Maybe you know Isaac Bonga? Mis-spelled last name initially. https://www-nba-com.cdn.ampproject....s/news/190416-2019-player-capsule-isaac-bonga
No no, i got that you were talking about him, it's just that i think i never saw him play so i just don't have an opinion on him
Rockets out: Capela Rockets in: Marcus Smart, Robert Williams, future 1RP, future 2RP Replace Capela with someone of similar skillset that is younger in Williams. Get a bulldog of a defender in Smart. Assets. MLE to DeAndre Jordan for 1 year. Better rebounder than Capela. Home team discount for 1 year? C: Jordan, Williams, Nene PF: Tucker, Hartenstein SF: Gordon, Clark SG: Harden, Green PG: Paul, Smart
I think this might be a realistic trade...not sure Ainge throws in multiple picks and Williams, but much more likely he deals Smart over Brown imo. Would the Rockets do this though? Not sure...i mean, in terms of asset managment i think is probably good if you sign DeAndre while adding a guy like Williams who has the same Capela potential if not more. But personally i'd probably do this if we also trade Chris Paul and sign Butler, like: DeAndre/Williams/Hartenstein PJ/Clark Butler/House Harden/Green Smart/?
Rockets get Ryan Anderson (great expiring), Deanthony Melton (great young talent), pick 26 in the draft. Cavaliers get Iman Shumpert Phoenix gets Marqueese Chriss and Brandon Knight. Miami gets a fist up their butt
Alright, I was looking at a scenario to move Paul and Capela, but bring us back at least Butler and another shooter. Here's what I came up with,,, http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y6yezuqa HOU Out: Paul, Capela, Gordon, Nene and 1st Rd in 2021 HOU In: Hayward, Butler, Baynes and Rob Williams * HOU gets a Star SG in Butler and a scoring SF in Hayward. Baynes and Hart become our new look post pairing, with Rob Williams playing Capela role when needed. We get more punch on offense and defense. BOS Out: Hayward, Baynes, Yabusele, and R. Williams BOS In: Paul and Capela * BOS gets the perfect floor leader for young stars Tatum/Brown. Capela replaces aging Horford and provides defense, rebounding and rim rattling. PHI Out: Butler PHI In: Gordon, Nene, Yabusele, and HOU 1st Rd 2021 * Rather than lose Butler, they snag a solid SG in Gordon, a mentor for Emiid, and a couple of wild cards in Yabusele and 1st rounder.
Here's a complete blow up idea: Trade Chris Paul to the Suns for the 6th pick and TJ Warren Trade Clint Capela to the Hawks for the 10th pick Opens up $50 in cap space. Sign Patrick Beverly for $10 million Re-sign Austin Rivers for $5 million Re-sign Kenneth Faried for veteran minimum Sign DeAndre Jordan for $5 million Sign Jimmy Butler for max $30 million Use 6th pick and 10th pick for two 3 and D guys (Culver, Hunter, Little, Doumbouya, Reddish, Clarke) Roster PG: Patrick Beverly, Austin Rivers SG: James Harden, Eric Gordon, Danuel House SF: Jimmy Butler, TJ Warren, 6th pick, 8th pick PF: PJ Tucker, Kenneth Faried C: DeAndre Jordan, Isaiah Hartenstein
If Rivers walks and Jimmy chooses the Rockets: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yygzd5um Houston in : Butler, Bolden Atlanta in : Capela, Nene Philly in : Bazemore, Len, Clark, 10th pick from Atlanta 2019, future 1st from Houston CP/Harden Harden/EG Butler/House PJ/Bolden DJ(minimum)/Dedmon(MLE)/Hart Bolden Dedmon and Hart can stretch the floor. DJ does what he does. I’m starting to think J Green may not be affordable. DJ would have to take the minimum(hometown discount). If you could get Dedmon and DJ(very wishful thinking) losing Clint wouldn’t hurt as much. We just need a big or two to ring chase and give us a one year discount. If no DJ go after R Holmes and start Dedmon.
Try this one on for size. Butler likes Miami. Sixers get Paul and first round picks. Rockets get out of Paul's contract and get useful/tradeable players in return. http://tradenba.com/trades/S1MdxuLJB
I'm not sure your math is 100% correct. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/houston-rockets/cap/ I think you're just taking the combined $50ish million of CP3 and Capela and thinking we'd have that space. We wouldn't. $125 million currently towards the 19/20 cap. Losing CP3 and Capela saves $53.4 million, but then you have to add in TJ Warren's $10.8 million, so net savings of $42.6 million. That's $82.6 million. Plus last year's 6th pick got $5.7 million and 10th pick $4.1 million, so another $9.8 million. That's $92.4 million. The cap will be around $109 million $109 - $92.4 = $16.6 million That's just napkin math but +/- correct. This would not get you a max slot. But would get you some cap space, the two draft picks, etc. Still interesting to consider.
