If it isn't painfully obvious to everyone, the Rockets most pressing needs are forwards and backup bigs. If a trade nets us a guard, which then allows us to move EG - which I think would be stupid, EG is hard to replace - then ok, but otherwise we should be focused on 3/4/5s
He'd be a good replacement for Gordon and quirks show us to trade Gordon and Capela for something better. But let's pretend that doesn't happen. And we're only able to trade for Hill (or possibly Dragic) using Knight and a pick. You're starting small forward now becomes Harden. I'll take that. Melo's destination likely Portland, Washington, or Knicks. May first be routed to Sacramento or another team. Paul, Hill or Gordon, Harden, Capela, PJ with the other small also getting 30 minutes a night.....And then you give Ennis the remaining perimeter minutes. Now go get Luc and we've got a chance.
Our very important guards play too many minutes especially CP3. Need a Yogi Ferrell, JJ Barrea, or Aaron Brooks type player at least.
But you were thinking about him. Because you always are. I think it's time to come to terms with your secret mancrush on Clint.
May be awhile to find a guy that could crack the rotation. But we got no depth or injury insurance could use a playable switch defender 3/4 with even a 30% 3 ball that we could get cheap, like Sam Dekker or Justin Anderson type.
Not that it’ll last but Orlando is actually playing well. I don’t know why people keep mentioning Aaron gordon? Are there rumors the magic will trade him?
Nope. People on here just assume that everyone has to deal with the Rockets. He’s so good that he makes us championship favourites, but somehow also not good that the Magic will need to get out of that contract.
Why would Orlando do that? What are the chances a Houston pick is going to get them a player as good as say......Aaron Gordon?
No I wasn't. We can't trade Capela right now. If we deal him it will be closer to the deadline. I was talking and thinking about things that are on the front burner, things we're trying to get done now. I suggested to you that Brandon Knight and one of the young bigs (IH/ZQ) would be a deal Minny would do for Ty. They'd likely take Knight for Dieng and give Ty for one of IH/ZQ. Even when CC becomes tradeable, a Knight/CC package for Dieng/Ty is not doable without Minny sending back Taj or other salary to even the salaries out. And I didn't suggest Taj in the deal. Stop wasting our time belching crap you don't know about.
Tyus Jones is no good. His ceiling is still a back up point guard. The team he’s on does not have a great record which isn’t his fault but it’s not like there is any evidence that suggests he would help us get more wins or help Chris Paul with less minutes. Codmans riddles suggested he is someone we would be chasing and so naturally a lot of people on this board relentlessly have pursued him since. But he has horrible shooting percentages this year. Could those numbers change in our system? Maybe. But is it more likely he ends up like Tyler Ennis was with us? More likely.
You either haven't watched him enough or you don't know the game well enough. Tyus has star potential and he's a better player than either of the point guards they're playing now.
Please trade Knight/picks for very available player as soon as possible. or Melo/MCW/picks for a young rotation player.
How about trading Knight for a player with a two or three year contract, plus a medium small expiring contract plus a small asset? Jason Smith, McLemore, Baker, Satoransky, Tolliver, Miscala, KOQ, Mudiay, Meeks among possibilities fit medium small expiring. That might make sense.
Jonathan Isaac is the future starter at 4 spot. Even with Gordon nicked up and not playing well, it is Isaac providing offensive but more importantly the defensive spark off the bench. Only matter of time before the next Durant supplants AGordon as their franchise player. Isaac and Bamba are suffocating rim protectors and are the Magic’s future foundation. Vucevic and Augustin are the pick and pop machine in ORL. Also would rather have Terrence Ross over Simmons but Ross is playing like a stud, he is ORL version of Klay Thompson - lights out 3 pt shooter and lock down D.
