Radio Shakeup - 790 chooses Josh Innes over Adam Clanton

    I don't know the exact details of what happened, but I assume something between those two since they have feuded.

    790 dismissed Adam Clanton today and suspended Josh Innes for five days.

    Why was this guy brought back to Houston? We actually lose a guy who reps Houston regularly because of him? When will radio stations stop feeding Josh Innes?

    Didn't he have the Rockets duties? Y'all telling me all our Finals radio sound clips are going to be coming from the just-cracked-puberty voice of Chris Gordy? From HOW SWEET IT IS to Gordy? Oh lawd.

    It's possible I only like the guy because he was the producer on Matt and Adams The Night Shift but he was an actual Rockets fan. Unreal he was fired over a guy who actively just trolls Maurey.

    Clanton is an obnoxious bandwagoner. I don't care for him one bit. Weird thing is Josh Innes still has a job. must be something on his contract when he signed for 790

    Fwiw, I've had good experiences with both guys. I've chatted with Adam plenty of times even since the CB4Houston interview for KPRC, always said hi to me when I run into him at Rockets games and a fellow WWE fan. Met Josh once at a 610 FanFest like 6-7 years ago, and was cool as hell to talk to.

    Curious to know what led to this

    EDIT: checked with my sources and it's true :(

    I can't say that I loved Clanton on the radio, but I hate that he lost his job. And I REALLY hate that he lost his job and Innes didn't.

    Liked Clanton, till I followed him on twitter and started getting his conservative propaganda.

    Innes is and always has been a douche.

    790 use to be awesome.

    Getting rid of Matt / Adam in the mornings was the beginning of their downfall.

    Both are conservatives. Weird.

    I love Adam.
    I like Josh.

    790 just lost a lot of IQ. Adam is a really smart guy and a solid show host.

    Both were maturing nicely into their respective shows. I hate it that they gave up on Adam.

    Look, Clanton reps Houston and specifically the Rockets, which I've always appreciated....but over the last few years has come completely unhinged.

    Just from listening to him on the radio and following him on social media....seems to me the dude's got anger management issues, and if this was over a physical confrontation I'm 100% not surprised.

    Wish him the best, especially with a kiddo on the way.

    I can do without Clanton. Yes, he is supportive of the Rockets, but it's entirely possible he's just not that good at radio. He wants to be Clay Travis so bad, and more times than not it ends up being political negativity. It's funny when people in an entertainment business complain about politics and sports intermingling. And then your response to that is... to talk more about your political opinions in regards to sports.
