I don't blame anyone for opposing subpoenaing the translator. It wouldn't even work. Trump would assert executive privilege to block the testimony. It wouldn't do Congress any good to pick a fight it'd lose. I think they'd be better served demanding Trump brief them (or perhaps just leadership to guard against leaks if necessary) in a closed door session with a threat of Congressional action (like pass sanctions like they did before) or inaction (except not on the USSC nomination -- they probably want that more the Trump does) to encourage him to cooperate. Assuming they could get the votes to go through with any threats. She looks good in some photos and really not so good in others.
