President Obama to unveil tougher climate plan with his legacy in mind.

So much for the lame-duck presidency. President Obama has saved what is perhaps his best for last.

Looks like a non-starter that has no hope of ever going anywhere.

Is that what you want or is that what is going to happen based on your careful interpretation of the law?

IMO that's what is likely to happen because Mr Obama doesn't have the political capital available, and there are "battleground" states negatively affected by these regulations. I think the regulations will stay tied up in court past Obama's time in office and will be erased by whatever new president steps in.

since nothing is getting voted on and Obama is just doing all this by fiat, if he wants them to stick, he needs to tie them to handouts (credits, subsidies). The government will cut you a $1k check for installing a solar panel, etc.

How he can do that without Congress I have no idea, but he couldn't care less.

once you get people on the dole, it's harder to repeal

just look at the ethanol mandate, everyone agrees it's awful environmentally and economically, but we can't get rid of it

    Election demagoguery.

His "legacy" will be Gay Rights and Iran. He's been a fraud everywhere else. He'll be "credited" with the ACA but it is so horrible people will eventually blame him for it.

    But we must try...

As Obamacare Takes Hold, Unpaid Hospital Bills Vanish

"A new report in Forbes, by Bruce Japsen, who has covered healthcare and healthcare policies for over 20 years, says that as the law begins to help more and more people, more and more of its benefits are being seen. The latest discovery about Obamacare is that unpaid hospital bills have been drastically declining, in both number and cost."

Another brilliant move by Obama. He's going on the offensive and forcing the wingnuts to react. The way he's outplayed the Republicans for the last 7 years and gotten so much good accomplished is nothing short of astounding. The best, most effective, President of since Roosevelt.

Imagine the savings on the reduction in heating days. Heating costs > Cooling costs.

It is definitely hard to tell. I've found that no matter what, reading most of the D&D threads in the voice of an excited old-timey radio announcer greatly enhances the experience.

I read them as Alec Baldwin doing Tony Bennett.
