Hopefully, some more offensive linemen are coming in. If the Texans are finished with "rebuilding" the offensive line, DW will be running for his life. Somehow the Texans always seem to come up short when trying to plug gaps. I guess it is a money thing, maybe a talent assessment thing, or both.

    C Martin
    RG Allen
    RT Henderson
    LG Fulton
    LT Kelemente

Not what I want but what I think will happen.

The defensive signings have been exciting. On offense, not so much.

1 more OL would be great don't want to see Allen out there.

The guards added are playable and we need to see what Martin does at center. The problem is that the tackles are the worst in the NFL. There were only a few tackles that were worst signing and we whiffed on them. At this point if the Texans actually care about winning, they should gauge the trade market for improvements at left tackle, even if it is a mediocre one.

Good with this, Davenport has shown flashes in pass protection, but he has got to improve his run blocking, he never really tried to open up running lanes, he's got to get better

I think people forget Davenport was a 3rd round small school project, which is what he looked liked when he played. It’s safe to assume he gets better year 2, typically what happens to guys who’s biggest need to improve is strength and experience.

OLine should be the main focus cause we must protect Deshaun, but despite the poor OLine play last year our offense still was 1st in the league while #4 was back there. I think it improves though. Great Olines aren’t built overnight.

It was a top 10 OL when O'Brien was hired

Davenport wasn't expected to play much last year. I think the team expected Duane Brown to be the starting LT when they drafted Julien

I assume that too, but you could see him learning on the job. He showed flashes, and you’d expect him to get better.

Also doesn't help that it was by far the worst in the league last year

And all they did was sign two guards who haven't even been full time starters

And one of them is really a center.

"we want guys that are versatile" a very telling quote for those who don't believe the coach wasn't allowed to choose his players.
the filo pick and the addition of allen in 2016 both were "versatile" guys.
this was the "system", a system doomed to fail because Brady is the one that makes the up and down versatile line nonsense work with quick diagnosis of defenses.
Kubiak's system was elegant which is why a bunch of misfits could be ranked as one of the best o-lines in the entire league.

all that said, It can actually work now because Watson is so gifted. Allen should go back to what he played with the chiefs, LG. Wade on his show compared switching from left to right like attempting to wipe your butt with your left hand if usually use your right. I was like whooooa, that's deep!

    LT Davenport
    LG Allen(if we must)
    C Martin
    RG Fulton
    RT Kelemente

I'm guessing they trade up to take a tackle in the second round.

Not ideal as we need all those picks

The mistake people make is not planning for the random key contributor who ends up on IR in the first week of camp.

Someone you are counting on will get hurt. you need more than just 5 guys.

Also, no NFL team is going to willingly choose to start Kelemete at tackle if they have a choice. As a fill in rather than some tackle-sized slappy like Kendall Lamb, ok. But at 6'3" with 33" arms he's starting every rep reacting and trying to catch up with the defender. It's not a recipe for success.
