I count my blessings everyday that I was born white and not worried about being killed by a police officer for a minor infarction or a misunderstanding. The Police and it’s union are going to be the first ones lining up to support the state if it goes full fascist.
Police annually kill more whites https://www.statista.com/statistics/585152/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-race/
The fact is the police should be trained more to prevent shootings like this. I remember on cnn they had shown a confrontation in Toronto Canada a couple of years ago where the police showed restraint against a suspect. I will look for it. Here it is. I know this Canada but this is how police should act. Btw what even more shocking this was a terrorists he was up against.
If wrongfully shooting someone dead in their own house isn't murder I don't know what is. The lady was murdered.
He has already been charged with murder. I think we are seeing that the system is willing to hold police responsible. I also think obviously the body cam is a huge factor and if it wasn't there we probably wouldn't know the truth. That being said police are gonna get benefit of the doubt as well they should. Rocket River keeps referencing Tamir Rice. That cop saw someone with a gun on a call he was told someone had a gun and was threatening people. A mid can pull a trigger. Is he supposed to wait to find out if gun is real? Rice being a kid is irrelevant imo.
YES!!! YES!!!@ HE WAS SUPPOSE TO FIND OUT IF THE GUN IS REAL !!!! ITS HIS F*CKING JOB!!!!!!! The Job is to Protect and Serve the public not To make it home even if he has to kill a 12 year old Rocket River
"Why did you not go in rescue the person from the fire." - The Public "It was hot and dangerous in there. . . .I had to make sure I got home to my family." - Fireman PGabs Rocket River
I imagine prosecutors will go with a tactic similar to what they did with Amber Guyger, right? Get the officer to admit that his training provided him with ample options that didn't involve shooting and he ignored them all in favor of pulling the trigger before even announcing himself as an officer.
FBI is going to investigate possible civil rights violations, not only wrt this case but in general surrounding the FWPD From what I've seen, I like how their interim chief is handling this so far.
About twice as many whites killed as blacks...do you think there are two whites for every black in this country? Dishonest and/or ignorant, as usual.
I'm assuming since he resigned that he's in no way supported/represented legally by the Officer's Union? Seems a bit low, but criminal record and premeditation factor into bond decisions.
It'd have been low for my county, $500k to 1mil avg even if no criminal history and low flight risk/means. Yeah unlike guyger no legal support Or otherwise from the union, and unlikely from police associations.
