I commend Tom for the job he showed today. I also love the effort by the o- line, because the Texans will make damn sure they fix it
They will? It’s gone from awful to not too awful to passable back to awful and there really hasn’t been improvement. Not when you’re running Sieve A Filo, Giacomini and “False Start 3 times in a Row” Allen.
The three fall starts by Allen will be a blessing in disguise, not to mention the absence of Brown and Newton. There will be major changes. Just wait and see
In fairness to Jeff Allen, he was playing left tackle despite being a guard and he did a pretty good job of it all things considered. I highly doubt he's had more than a few dozen practices at OT since college. Outside of the false starts, which is something that would go away with more practice, he seemed to do a better job at OT than anyone we've seen at the position this year.
Idk man even if Deshaun never returns to the same player he was I don’t think that makes the move a bad one... I mean hindsight is 20/20. But if the scouting department did it’s job and the player was deserving I think it’s always a good move. I said the same thing after Clowneys first two season when everyone was calling him a bust and saying we should have taken Bridgewater or Mack or Carr but I always believed that if he could stay on the field he would be great and the pick was the right one either way because on draft night He clearly was the best player. Like if JJ Watt would have gotten hurt his rookie year and never played another snap would that make it a bad pick? I don’t think so.
He played a pretty tough game yesterday. Doesn't somebody here have PFF grades? I'd be interested in how the reshuffled OL graded out?
In fairness to Jeff Allen, I’m guessing that whether you’re playing guard or tackle, on either side, the snap count doesn’t change. No excuse for 3 false starts in a row.
Texans placed CJ Fiedorowicz and Bruce Ellington on IR Texans promoted WR DeAndrew White and TE MyCole from the practice squad to the active roster Texans added WR Devin Lucien and CB Josh Thornton to the practice squad via Mark Berman
