Why didn’t Sammy Coates play instead of a 3rd string qb?

If we face KC in the playoffs T. Hill will do the same thing to us.

Because BOB is too stubborn to alter his system in order to fit the players he has available. His system calls for a fast player at that spot so he's going to play a fast player no matter if they have any skill as a receiver or not.

A better coach could have altered their system to utilize the TE's more.....especially given that the Texans' TE's were absolutely destroying the Colts all game long. Unfortunately, we are stuck with BOB and that means almost always losing games where coaching is a factor.

Why hes still on the team is beyond me. They used him as a punt returner as well. Hes been strictly special teams all year and its not like weve been hearing his name making big plays on ST either.

Over the winning streak, I've learned that the Texans don't struggle against really good defenses as much as against really good offenses. Especially speedy receivers. Speed is JJO's weakness and Colvin is still one of the most disappointing FAs this year.

Sammie Coates was insurance in case one of the big possession receivers went down. Honestly they should have dumped him once they signed Thomas. He's decent in being a big possession type receiver, but the Texans just don't need that and he's not capable of being anything else.

That's because the Texans win with defense instead of offense. The offense is actually fairly pathetic, so a good offense that can score on their defense is going to beat them most of the time because any BOB coached offense will struggle to put up 25+ points consistently unless the defense is scoring.

Against Indy, our defense held their offense under their season average but our offense failed to score the season average that indy's defense is giving up. In short, nearly the entire problem the team is facing is on offense.....and given the weapons the Texans have, that's unacceptable.

I meant to ask - he's clearly healthy... why is he not playing? Luck picked on Wright on their final TD drive. Has Colvin fallen that far on the depth chart?...

“I think we try to just make decisions in the best interest of the team relative to him coming back from an injury, where we are with Shareece,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien said. “Shareece has been playing well for us. Aaron has been helping us on special teams. We just try to play the guys we feel – in the position where we feel like they can execute the best for us where they’re at right now.”

Every opposing QB picks on Wright almost every passing play. I feel bad for the guy but he's gotta make a big time play before they leave him alone for a bit.

Honestly I think 7 of 20 is being kind, I think Watson should be charged with even more of them.

With no running game Watson looks very inexperienced. Foreman can't come back soon enough. We need a 3 headed monster to help the load there. You can definitely win in the playoffs with Bend Don't Break D and a Running Game.

He (Wright) almost gave up a couple of home runs to the Browns the previous week as well. Easy game plan, speed versus #43 and get it out quickly.

Its not hard to pick on most secondaries, let alone this one, if you're not generating enough of a pass rush to force a throw that's not in rhythm.

When Luck was pressured yestereday, or even just forced out of the pocket some, the results were usually favorable for the Texans. When he had time to drop back and survey, he was dropping dimes.

The hurry up really changed the tempo of their offense yesterday... and certainly got them 17 points in less than one quarter. Yes, while the defense did step up and hold them scoreless in the 4th, some of that was the Colts could no longer use the hurry up as they wanted to milk clock... I am somewhat concerned that they just basically outlined a blueprint of how to stymie this defense.
