Yeah... he has just become an exceptional baseball player. He has improved almost every season. He isn't just an exceptional hitter for average.... or even an exceptional offensive player, he is an exceptional baseball player. Right now he is playing at a level that no second baseman in franchise history has played at, and only a handful of second basemen in baseball history have.
I hate to say I told yall so, but I told yall so. He throws strikes and ground balls, which is what you want in a reliever. Oh, yeah, and it's a shame Bregman doesn't have enough power to stick at 3B.
I liked Musgrove in the pen too. He can miss his location and get away with it at 95-97 mph but not at 91-92.... I don't ever want to see him in the rotation again though. Power was the one thing about Bregman That concerned me.. his lack of power early this year did cause me to raise an eyebrow.
Aye. Love Musgrove in the pen. If a guy can hit 30ish doubles and 20ish homers, he has enough pop for me to play 3B, as long as he's got the glove, the glove is the most important thing.
Grateful we got the tanking/rebuilding Oakland A's to come to down to be a slump buster/help get our groove back.
I forgot how much I loved those uniforms, those are still the GOAT IMO. Those same uni's with orange instead of gold and the H star hat would be my perfect combo. As for the game, Musgrove is working his way into higher leverage situations which is great to see. All of these talented arms in the pen, but none of them are grabbing that role by the throat. Hopefully he can keep it up.
