Bagwell's pretty blunt in his broadcast appearances, but I'm sure he holds back quite a bit that he'd like to say about his beloved Astros being the worst baserunning team in the league.

This is a team that really really didn’t want to play a double header in shitty weather and without Cole.. I really don’t think they give a damn about this game

Having watched this group of guys for a few years, they're just not a "pick up the pitcher" type of team, which is really unfortunate, because there have been many masterful pitching performances over the past couple of years that did not yield W's.

You know it's killing him. Dude went 40-30 twice as a first baseman, best baserunner along with Jeter I've seen in the last several years.

I don't think they're the *worst* baserunning team, they're definitely the most aggressive, for better or worse.

Hopefully Hinch has enough tissue for them so they can rebound tomorrow.

Two straight batters two straight meat balls over the middle of the plate two straight hitters who can't even take the bat off of their shoulder. Two unprepaired players

Why swing? Those pitches weren't *exactly* down the middle

Yuli has gotten so ****ing much better at 1B than he was his first year, not just the picks but the footwork too.

    "anybody can play 1B"

I don't know how the advanced stats treat him, but his combination of size and that cannon allow him to make some pretty spectacular plays that no one else could make.

That was a flat footed rocket from the hole.

Ok, when I looked them up using Fangraphs' BsR metric a few weeks ago (which I made a post about somewhere), they were in 30th place. Looks like they are now in 27th place. Their team baserunning is strongly net negative by the metrics. And the eye test doesn't disagree.

Fair enough. Their aggressiveness sure pays off sometimes, and it burns them too. Specific guys are a major minus.

Luhnow and Hinch want it that way.
