That’s true, so would that make verlander game 2 and Greinke game 3 for hitting? Would have a long rest for verlander game 6 or 7. Too hard to predict the cat and mouse that far out I guess. But I like Greinke tomorrow and verlander Friday (if win), Urquidy/James Friday (if loss).

People half-jokingly say it's "Contract year Harris," but if that's the case, why didn't we get "Contract Year Keuchel" and "Contract Year Morton" last year? The more likely answer comes from a vignette ATTSW did on Will, either as part of a live broadcast or as part of Astros Bases Loaded (I can't remember). We learned that it hurt him quite a bit to be left off of last year's ALCS roster, and so he really worked to improve himself after that experience. And, lo and behold, he did a hell of a job at it. Astros story of the year if I had a vote.
If he does keep Verlander for game 6, it would be more about not trusting a bullpen game for a possible elimination game. As it is, Hinch isn’t necessarily looking forward to any bullpen game, especially now that they’re going to play 4 games in a row. If they’re up 3-1, Verlander pitches for sure and bullpen game 6 as needed.
Yep. If the Astros win Games 4 and 5, it would be: Game 1 - Cole Game 2 - Verlander Game 3 - Greinke Game 4 - Bullpen Game 5 - Cole Game 6 - Verlander Game 7 - Greinke(and every other pitcher they have) That would be the ideal scenario for the Astros, but I ain't holding my breath. As far as the ALCS, the more I think about it, the more I feel that Verlander should only start Game 5 if Greinke wins Game 4. Otherwise save Verlander for Game 6 and Cole for Game 7. Yes, we're hurting ourselves going into the World Series if the ALCS goes the distance, but the Astros would be heavy favorites against the Yankees given how worn down their bullpen is likely to be.
So you want 3 games to get rescheduled instead of just one? they can play 4 games in a row with travel. They did it all season.
Why don’t they move saturdays game(if necessary) to a 7pm start to accommodate the travel. That seems plenty simple.
It was always at 8 est. The more pressing question is why aren’t they playing earlier on Friday if they need to travel to Houston to play Saturday.
saturday's game is at 7pm. that doesn't accommodate travel. the issue is friday's game should be in the afternoon to accommodate the actual travel after the game in NY, which is obviously going to end late
