    Thank you, Bregs.

If I never hear the words "pitch tipping" again I'll be a happy man.

I get what your saying but I'm still on the fence with it.

If there is a rain out we go Greinke game 4 vs. Tanaka. I'm 100% on board with that call.

It gets trickier for me after that...which is why I would be a terrible baseball manager.
The question is, what give us the best chance of winning the series with the pitchers we have?

My biggest fear is Greinke losing game 4...and we follow up with Verlander game 5. Sounds good. He is on full days rest. However if he loses that game.... we are in trouble going into game 6/7.
    1. We will be forced to pitch Cole on short rest just to get to a bullpen game 7 day.

I think it's better to to Greinke game 4 (win or lose) and follow up with Urquidy and the bullpen game 5. That still sets up a fully rested Verlander and Cole for game 6/7.
I think this give us the best chance to win the series.
Also...the travel day going straight from game 4 to game 5 to face Verlander fully rested would have to hurt the Yankees some.

There's a 100% chance of rain from around 4-10 PM.

Also, for Thursday: 20mph wind with gusts up to 30, blowing out. That should be interesting. Greinke may throw a 50mph curveball.

Sign a relief pitcher for multiple years and theyre just going to suck for a portion of it. Thats just how it goes. The relief pitching conundrum wheel will continue to spin. Forever and always it seems.

Pitch Tipping, While the paranoia is excessive...

Longtime catcher Erik Kratz divulged a trade secret this spring. He told the AP that one of his former teams placed cameras behind home plate to detect when opponents were tipping. After games, the team would use video editing software to overlay each delivery from the pitcher. If he was doing something differently on his breaking pitches — maybe moving an elbow in a funny fashion — the whole team would know to watch for it. Kratz played for nine big league franchises, a list that includes the Astros...

Yes, teams have looked for stuff like this for about 100 years, technology's just making it easier. And there's nothing wrong with what you described above, as long as you're not doing it in-game.

Poor Yankees. Victims of dejuiced baseballs and pitch tipping.

    Here is it.

The storm is moving northeast and scheduled to land this afternoon. It won't fully pass NYC until 5 hours minimum.

They need to cancel earlier then later.
We don't want Grenike to start the game...go 2 innings and then cancel or wait for a 2 hour game delay and burn him.

Best move whether 2-2 or 3-1 is Urquidy Game 5. If JV pitches (win or lose) were gonna need an Urquidy game regardless unless it's 3-1 and we win. Cole wouldn't pitch short rest if up 3-2 so Urquidy would pitch anyway. Give JV some extra rest. If it's 3-1 and Urquidy wins, oh my.

My brain hurts thinking of all the possibilities. Maybe since my ideas and your ideas have no effect we should stop thinking about it. Hitch is going to do what he wants. Fairly certain he doesn't read Clutch Fans for advice.

Wouldnt that mean NYY burns Tanaka as well? At least a wash? Maybe slightly favors us based on how gm 1 went?

Edit** I'm off on this. If we played today it would be a bullpen game anyway.
Greinke doesn't pitch game 4 unless there is a rain out.

Like the idea of Urquidy vs Tanaka in game 4, all the pressure will be on Tanaka
