Those two situations can't be compared in any way. With the Astros stuff you are saying teams wouldn't want to deal with us because of being involved in possible "cheating" and because our Front Office has, at least in the national media's eyes, made some questionable decisions.

Do you really think if we traded away, let's say Carlos Correa, another team wouldn't be interested because their fans might not want him on the team because he was potentially involved in cheating?

The kap situation is much different because there is no doubt adding him to a roster would anger at least a significant percentage of their fan base

At the end of the day this is a business to team owners, and to an extend front office executives. These two situations in no way relate to each other in my opinion

Shouldn't have much to worry about there, unless Luhnow was actively involved in the use of the cameras, or physically setting them up. This could potentially go down similar to the Cardinals hacking us episode. If they can pin the actual use of the camera on specific FO personnel, those guys could be in serious trouble. If Luhnow "knew" it was going on but wasn't actively involved, potentially a fine.

Howard somehow forgot there was a guy in front of him causing the sack.

I hope you're right. Seems like people are out for blood way more than I ever remember reading about with the Cardinals episode.

Yeah, just saying I don't remember the media outrage machine being as amped up for the Cardinal scandal. Admittedly, I did not follow it as closely. I wouldn't be surprised if there's pressure for more MLB-leveled punishment coming the Astros way than what the Cardinals received. Obviously, the Cardinals case had a separate law enforcement dimension since a crime was involved (hacking).

    Totally unscientific Google Searches

Not the Cardinals scandal, not the BoSox watches scandal, hell not even the current Angels OPIODS scandal surrounding Skaggs DEATH. When the media turns on someone or something it's relentless. It's weird how they decide what they want to hate, but they effing hate the Astros right now.

8.3 on Yuli is stealing. Astros are really getting good at this.

Legitimately hope Yuli retires as an Astro. I guess it would be his only mlb team too. So many clutch hits and homers in his time here.

clears up any questions about his free agency timing. Will get to free agency despite only having 4 years of service time. 4 everyday hitters now slated for free agency after this season, although it’s likely one of them (Reddick) is traded prior to opening day. Still, losing Springer, Brantley, and Yuli would be a pretty big blow to the offense.

Its not stealing when it was him willing not to go to arbitration. I love the deal, but it seems dumb of him not to, after the year he had.

Not to derail, but this hit/ab is in question for whistling. I dont give a damn. One of my favorite HRs of all time and yelled very loudly at it.

I could be wrong, but I think if he had gone to arbitration he would have lost his chance to go to free agency after this season. So he sacrificed a few million this year to make a lot more 2021-2022.

I hope Gurriel and Correa have Cole-like monster contract years.
