I predict that the Astros annihilate the M's tonight. Felix hasn't pitched well all year, but maybe the demotion relit his gears. Doubt it though as bats are heating up, almost full strength and with Cole on mound... Sweep is what we need and I think we do it. Need it with A's on heels and who knows... maybe they start falling off.
Once we have the band back together, we'll be alright. We're missing our rhythm guitarist. But, I expect us to lay some hurt after what happened in Houston. And, we're carrying momentum (according to Bregman).
Have if DVR'd so I can watch it first thing in the morning. I hate these 9pm starts. And go Rangers!!! I know you suck but we really need you to beat Oakland at least 2 out of 3. Please???
Interesting article on tomorrow's starter possibilities: https://climbingtalshill.com/2018/08/19/astros-is-collin-mchugh-on-the-move-back-to-the-rotation/ James has definitely earned a spot start, and I'm confident he will get one this season, but it obviously won't be tomorrow. Probably September once McCann is back. McHugh may do it and if it's just for one game I guess I'd be okay but he's way too valuable out of the bullpen. Perez is my top choice, although Peacock is good too. I'd like to see Cole go at least 7 tonight, if not 8. Tomorrow I can see something like: Perez (3), Peacock (2), McHugh (2), Sipp? (1), then whoever is freshest/Hinch is most comfortable with for the 9th. This is like one of the VERY few times I'm okay with rooting for the Rangers. As long as it's in the Astros' interest, it's all good.
McHugh warmed up twice last night but didn't pitch, so that was essentially a bullpen session for him. I'd expect him to get the nod Tuesday, especially given that Luhnow has recently said Perez will not start this year. So of course McHugh will pitch out of the pen tonight and Perez will start Tuesday. Why don't they just close the roof?
Also, McHugh owns the Mariners, especially in Seattle. Would love to see him start and pitch well. Can't close an umbrella.
This is what I was worried about when we saw him grimacing yesterday. Thumbs are a b*stard to get healed. Altuve activated tomorrow though.
Good news on Altuve. Any details on Springer and are we still TBA for our pitcher for tomorrow nights game?
