    Summarize:

Reddick outside of a hot streak for a week has been brutal.
Reddick carries a negative defensive rating.
    His playoffs have been atrocious.

For the Alva I see this

    Springer
    Altuve
    Brantley
    Bregman
    Alvarez
    Correa
    Gurriel
    Reddick
    Chirinos

    Bench:
    Maldanado
    Tucker
    Marisnick
Straw - fishers speed was critical game 5.
    Diaz

    Jv
    Cole
    Greinke
    Miley

    Harris
    Presley (hopefully)
    Osuna
    James
    Rondon
    Smith
Not sure now. Do we take Framber for one lefty? Devo? He did whif puig on the biggest stage.

Do you even need 11 arms in the ALDS?

They've gone 14-11 the last 2 times, then carried a 12th pitcher in the ALCS.

    Points of order:

On no habitable planet is Josh Reddick a subpar defender in RF
Reddick is slashing .371 .420 .613 1.033 over his last 20 games coming into tonight.

I think Peacock is likely to be in that last spot if healthy

He is actually a very mediocre defender these days, he hasnt been real good since 2013

The Fielding Bible. MLB people who think that way. My Eyeballs. You should find better metrics....or go back to standard like a proper American.

Agreed. But has there been any indication he will be healthy?

I don't know if Josh Reddick will be a better playoff performer than Kyle Tucker.

Reddick has around 1.000 OPS the last 20 or so games.

He has hit left handed pitching quite well this season, to the tune of on nearly a 900 OPS.

My gut is that Tucker's bat would be better in the playoffs, but who knows how he handles the playoffs as a rookie.

What I do know is that Reddick is the clear cut better fielder.

Part of me likes the idea of Tucker starting and having Reddick off the bench to face a lefty as a pinch hitter.

I prefer the metrics that MLB front offices use.

The way Reddick has played there is no way he can be left out of the lineup; there are still 10 games left, so if he goes 0 for his next 30 then there’s a convo, but otherwise he’s the RF. I think Tucker will make the playoff roster since they have room for an extra position player, and because getting him exposed to playoff baseball has value.

If he goes cold.... I can see it at least being a conversation. Regardless he should always play against lefties and likely gets almost all the starts against righties. My gut is that Tucker would hit better over the same sample size, but what is my gut worth? Not much.

Speaking of lefties that have hit lefties well, Kyle Tucker is rocking a 0.973 OPS in his career against lefties. My gut says it probably isn't a big deal with Reddick or Tucker at this point. Expect Astros to go with Reddick, though I think odds of Tucker making playoff team have drastically risen.

If Tucker can continue to hit well, especially doubles and homeruns, I wonder if he might get some time if we make World Series and as an alternative for Alvarez in left in NL park.

    Why would you bench Brantley?

He's in right if Alvarez is in left in NL park.

Personally I would play Alvarez every single game in the NL city.

His bat is just too good and contrary to popular belief he isn't THAT bad defensively to play 3-4 games out there.
