Nothing has changed from THE last time you asked. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...son-to-2-way-deal.284476/page-4#post-11242958
This guy doesn't do one thing well enough to stick. He's super athletic to where he's the most athletic point in the g league. But in the league league, he regular. And his average playmaking/shot making abilities don't help. Not a bad idea to give him a shot though based on natural athleticism, but don't expect much.
Maybe he can develop like Bev did. When the Rox first got him Bev was a total scrub, he couldn't dribble and was just an average 3 pt shooter as well.
i think he can transition into defensive stopper role...he looks athletic enough, like the guy who could have always played that role, but instead played offense, since he could dominate in college....
What am I missing here? Why do we need another guard and where are those stats from? I just looked up his stats from last year on the Celtics and he only averaged 2.0 ppg, 0.6 assists and 0.8 rebounds per game. That's not good.
they only cut him, because they had too when they made that trade for that dude on the jazz. he was at the end of a stacked bench, if you look at his film, he has potential. on our team, he would be a project on offense, hoping his 3 point shot will get better, considering he won't have the ball in his hands, like he's used to. but if he can use that athletiscm and young legs on defense, you never know.
Good luck to him. He may not crack the rotation except in the case of an injury or two, but that doesn't mean he won't have a decent NBA career ahead of him. Several "barely Rockets" have done well for themselves: DeMarre Carroll, Jon Leuer and so on...
What makes you say he's used to having the ball in his hands? For his first two years at Notre Dame, he was Jerian Grant's shooting guard. (Grant was a PG taken 19th pick in the draft, and many here wanted him.) Only after Grant left, did Jackson play his one year as PG for ND. btw: I'm continuously surprised how these Jackson signing threads (this is the third one in a month) keep popping up and few if any admit to wanting us to draft him. After we took Onuaku and Zhou in the same draft, and Morey failed to comply again with the yearly call to pick a point guard, many on this board were miffed we didn't take Demetrius Jackson when we had the chance. This signing (which was announced in July as a 2-way Deal) is Morey showing us that Jackson was on his draft board, afterall. He looks better than Payton II to me.
