Lock it up if this has already been posted, but this new trailer is awesome. Looks like it's going to be a really good game. <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=43329"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=43329" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>
Looks great! Seems like the person doing the voiceover is doing his best to imiate the guy (can't remember his name right now) that used to do all the cool movie trailers. FAIL. Still, the game looks great. Lots of nostalgia.
Saw a preview of this on x-play a few months ago, and apparently the voices are all the original guys. Looks awesome.
Looks awesome, I hope the game is as good as the simple fact that the original Ghostbusters are all back with a new story.
A co-worker and I were debating if the kidos will dig this game as much as us oldies who lived through the Ghostbusters phenomenon. I am looking forward to this game a ton, but my nephews just see it as another game. My co-worker seems to think if he shows his daughter the movie she will dig the game as much as him. For me it's not the same. You had to live through that phenomenon when the first movie came out. What ya'll think?
My kids have seen the movies and they love them......Red Fly studios in Austin did some of the versions of the game.....they are good friends of mine. But Universal dropping it is a bad sign for me. June 2009? LOL this game was done months ago...they must be redo-ing some of it to improve the quality. DD
my 8 year old loved the movie...i showed it to him for the first time a few weeks back. i was thinking he would go crazy for this game if he knew it was out.
They also may be holding off to release the game a little closer to when GB3 is released. IMDB says it is slated for 2010.
I've been waiting for this game every since I saw it was being developed. I was a Ghostbusters fanatic as a kid. I still have all of my old GB toys locked up in my storage room.
Well they didn't just drop it, it had something to do with the merger with Activision because the game was being published by Sierra and the merger killled Sierra. Also, the 2009 release date will coincide with the 25th anniversary for the first movie. I'm sure there will be some new DVD and Bluray anniversary editions of the movie coming out at the same time. BTW, Red Fly worked on the Wii and PS2 versions of the game.
Obligatory Angry Game Nerd Ghostbusters review. <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=17324"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=17324" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>
i think this will be similar to the warriors game that came out in '05. if you saw and loved the movie, you were probably pretty excited for that release. i think the smart thing to do would be to have your nephews watch the movies before playing the game.
