Post any tips here for features you like or discovered. I'll start. There is no more need to "Embed Tweet" code or "Embed Youtube" code anymore. Just post the URL link. Like Facebook, this new software only needs the URL to render the tweet/youtube Like this (hit reply to my post to view how simple it is)
Here's another I like, which I don't think was in Forum X. Upper right of each thread, there is a very easy way to scroll to bottom and top post in the page...and you can incrementally page through each. This will help skipping past long posts...especially long post that were merely copied in replies. See the 2 / 20 and the double up/down arrows and the single arrows. Double takes you to last and first in the page. Single Next and Prev.
Looks like clicking on Thread Title takes you to last post that you read in the thread. Big thumbs up. Much easier to get to last post via Mobile now. You don't have to try to hit that small arrow anymore.
Oh, hell yeah. Tagging ppl then seeing the notification flag tell you ... that's a game changer!!!!!!!!!! wasn't sure what you were talking about @CCorn
When you say "Chats" is that the same as "Conversations" ... that is, the envelope button by our login name.
@heypartner How do you quote multiple posts in this new system? How do I take your first post and put it in a different thread?
You click 'Reply' and it quotes the text then puts you in the Edit box. Then, just scroll back up and hit reply to someone else. It will add the second Reply to wherever you left your cursor in the edit box. It works. Not sure if I explained in the easy way possible, but it works. Also, will have to test how to scroll back through pages to add Replies.
Ok. But.... How do I quote your posts from this thread say in a thread in the GARM? In the old BBS, you could hit the quote symbol and multi quote from any thread in any forum to any other thread in any other forum...
Wow... posts/threads from people on Ignore are gone! Woopee! I just took several people off ignore. Giving yall a second chance.
Try it. Looks like the edit box "cache" of chosen replies doesn't carry over as you switch to other threads or pages. So, if nothing else, do it the old fashion way padawan: Open two browser tabs and copy replies from one to a single post in another. You millennials still need us '99ers to hold your hands.
Let us know if the quoted box in a reply to someone you have on ignore is suppressed in the reply as well. Be cool if you can see the reply but the quoted text is hidden from you.
