Okay guys, we are starting a new draft hoping to get a full boat (16 people) to draft CURRENT NBA PLAYERS. 10 Rounds deep, 1-16, 16-1, 16-1, 1-16 format. This prevents LeBron, KD, and CP3 to form super teams. There will be an amnesty of 1 player after the draft ends and pick up one free agent. You cannot trade the player you pick up after amnesty. you cannot pick back up the same player you have amnestied (i.e. only one amnesty so that would be impossible to do). You cannot trade for your amnestied player if that player is picked up by another team. Players must have 20 games played for the season as of 2/5/13. ALL SALARIES REFERENCED FROM HOOPSWORLD

    Draft wait time:
Rd 1: 3 hours before skip
Rd 2-8: 2 hours before skip
    Rd:9-10: 1 hour before skip
Horry Rule: 30 min after first post while OTC, If player has not been selected, Poster will be skipped
If poster is skipped, poster will continue to be skipped (no additional wait times) on his next up until poster returns at which point will have right to pick at any time.

No Trading of Cash allowed during entire draft process.
    Current players:

i think 10 is enough. 10 = full bench, all positions more or less. 11 and 12 would be just random no names

if we struggled to go 70 with 8 people, we can't go under 70 for 10.

Whats the policy about injured players? Can I draft someone like Kevin Love?

You guys "struggled" with 70 because you just drafted big names.

20 games till the start of the draft. + Dirk since he should hit 20 tomorrow.
I guess lets keep Love out of it, he didn't get 20 games, he's still injured and he wasn't good, so it's hard to judge.

    Thay is the point!!!

Make it about.smarter drafting and better fits... not jis.big.name.contracts...

    How far does.kobr slide?

    Or dirk?

Is it worth a 8th rd pick if you habe the space to get gay or jojo?

This.makes the draft different and better IMO...

Yung t salary 68 mil 8 players. No "big names." Alright fair enough. Let's do 60 or 65 mil for 10 rounds and see how it goes. should be interesting at least.

Rondo, Manu, Melo, Lee, Gortat get paid a good amount of money. The point of this is to prevent people from having multiple all-stars on their team, we try to make it more realistic.

Doesn't multiple participants avoid this. Logic says more people=less all stars available to draft. Its all good either way. I'm willing to try this out and see how it goes. Maybe it'll work out

QazQay and IzakDavid13 need to be added to OP... puts us at 14 players...

Maybe rocketsred14 he showed interest during the last draft... and than we would need uno mas...

We still have 7mil for each player if it's 70, that's alright. Maybe one max deal and two 10+mil guys, then you have to start to think before drafting and see how to shape a roster that works and is cap friendly. Everyone will need to show knowledge and draft under the radar guys with good PER/salary ratio.

i had 5 all stars and 3 marginal/former all stars on my team not because the cap was high. but because the cap was low. i drafted cheap stars first and picked up the rest when no one could afford them.

so... lets make it 5 mil lower to prevent it...
i'll have 5 all stars + 2 marginal all stars + a cheap player then. much good did it do.

well no, i won't have all that because we'll have more people. but not because of a lower cap.

if anything, an unlimited cap would be a bigger equalizer.

I like having a low cap because it adds much more strategy to the draft, rather than simply drafting the big names.
