This is probably the most shocking news I've experienced as a Nets fan. I was at the blow-out win last night and had no indication that this was in the works...

    Absolutely ridiculous.

They're going to be making the playoffs (although fed to either Milwaukee, Toronto or Boston by the way the standings look) and they've been missing their best player all season and second best player for a lot of the season.

There aren't many coaches that could have kept a team afloat like Atkinson has, for the Nets.

Like another poster said, Kenny got a raw deal.

    Atkinson to replace MDA
    Dinwiddie to replace Gordon
    Harris to replace Rivers

    I’m on board

It's a code tweet for "Someone explain to me why a great player like myself gets no playing time?"

Overall as a coach, He is better than MDA. He may not be a good fit for cost saving program.

It cost money to change coach.

Nets Players Felt Kenny Atkinson Lost Portion Of Locker Room

Brooklyn Nets players felt as though Kenny Atkinson lost a section of the locker room, reported Ian Begley and Corey Hersch of SNY.

Atkinson and the Nets agreed to part ways on Saturday morning.

Sean Marks said that Atkinson admitted to him that his voice wasn't resonating like it once did.

"There wasn't one game, an event of games (that led to the firing). This was a culmination of events over the course of the year. Kenny is brutally honest, and the humility he showed to say he'll admit, 'My voice is not what it once was here. It's time' (was remarkable)," said Marks.

Marks added that discussions over Atkinson's future had been on-going over the past couple months.

"It was after deliberation with Kenny over the course of the last two or three months. They were ongoing. I can't really put a time on it. We decided that if there was an opportunity for a change and put the Nets in a better place, whether that was personnel on the court or any one of us, we would have that honest conversation."

There hasn’t been a good schadenfreude team since Russ’ triple double year in OKC. I can see Kyrie, Marc Jackson and Durant hitting that sweet spot of obnoxious dumpster fire with high expectations that’s oh so fun to watch.

That guy is a head case there were rumors this year he was having meltdowns behind the scenes. He runs teams where ever he goes.

I wouldn’t want to coach Kyrie and KD...if it were me, I’d only do it for the money

Kyrie’s wannabe woke, open your 3rd eye schtick must be frustrating to deal with, and KD is an extremely sensitive weirdo

imagine having those 2 idiots as the leaders of your franchise

KD will be 32 coming off a devastating achilles...Kyrie is always injured and is very overrated

    fck that

I would bring him here but he is opposite of what Morey wants. He's not an idiot like Mchale or MDA, he actually coaches and impements his own philosophy. Morey likes his Yes Men that play predicable choking basketball
