Yep, well I finished the last 2 episodes today on the computer. My hangovers are pretty bad these days. Only thing I can do is watch tv in bed. But that’s not to say I wasn’t really into it because i was.
Not sure why ppl are saying the gf is a bad actress. I thought the way she said, "finger my p***y, and I'll give you a blowjob." was a start.
Just finished ep4 last night. I'm liking it. Does anyone else see Kirsten Dunst mannerisms and expressions in the gf actress, especially her lip movement and voice. Give her blond hair and red lipstick and she'd be a doppelgänger. To me, it's to the point I think the director is asking for those low key, rye mannerisms...and maybe how she won the audition.
Episode 1 was kind of ho-hum but the last 2 have been great. Really expertly crafted. You can tell it has Fincher DNA. I'm definitely on board for this one.
I am really enjoying this show. It's so calm and beautiful, and I don't have any problems with the acting like everyone else does. Even the girlfriend I like. Subtle and understated personalities, fits the mood of everything. Brilliant.
I actually think the acting... except the girlfriend... is really good. The Brudos psycho guy is real solid. That said not sure I’ve ever stuck around to something that so boring at first. I didn’t like it till episode three ish. It’s super solid after that.
Excellent show, solid A. I usually get bored with film that has no action but this kept me going. I think the GF nails the late-70's feminist b**** grad student; my mom's side of the family was full of those and I can juxtapose my personal experience with them and say that this character was spot on. No issues with any of the acting. I really like Bill's 'I'm a man, dammit' character as he nails that middle-age Korean war era soldier stereotype. The only parts I didn't enjoy were the sometimes ham-fisted character development side scenes, especially Dr. Carr's: wow, a lesbian trying to save an animal, now that's groundbreaking television. The scene with the babysitter finding the picture was also a bit forced. The overall thread I liked the most was Ford's development into the cocky expert that felt like he could play god with his knowledge. I also liked the little side story of the potential Kansas serial killer that fell apart. Yet another show from Netflix that nails the feel and tone of the era. I'll definitely be back for season two.
