Which HoFer or, if active, which near lock for HoFer is considered one of the most teammate neutering players ever?

I don't have a strict definition of a teammate neutering player. But basically it is a player that holds back rather than elevates their teammates (or something to that effect) for whatever reasons.

Reggie Evans and Draymond Green tried to neuter their opponents. Dunno about teammates.

    Those are not automatic HOFers.

If you look through the list of HoFers here are plenty of scrubbies that don’t deserve it.

    For instance; multiple globetrotters

There is a reason Airplane (1980) did this scene

Kareem: The only MVP on a team with a losing record who didn't make it to the playoffs.

I think clear answer you are looking here is Russel Westbrook.

It is certainly the right one in this scenario.

Iverson, maybe? Kind of hilarious in hindsight that the Nuggets thought pairing Melo with Iverson was a good idea.

But they got much better with a team-first guy at point, Chauncey Billups.

Certainly a lot of people will think Westbrook and perhaps deservedly so. And other stat padding chuckers will also come into mind.

But one other person to consider is Yao Ming. Hear me out.

Now Yao is no selfish ballhog chucker like Westbrook. But he was slow, post up player which limited the game to plodding half court dump it to style.

So offense became dump it to while other players were neutered and just standing around watching Yao go one on one in the post.

Yao may not be the "most" teammate neutering HoFer ever. But he deserves consideration.

By that logic Hakeem and Shaq also deserve consideration. Are you high or what?

Hakeem and Shaq (in his prime) were not slow by any stretch of the imagination...

That's only if someone considers Westbrick a HOF caliber player, I don't think he qualifies.

Not really though, because they allowed other players to put up numbers while going as far as humanly possible in the NBA on multiple seasons.
