It's interesting how Jay says the pace of the regular season and the playoffs were the same last season.

Antoine Walker is talking recklessly and went into his bag of cliched Rockets talking points. Do the Rockets take bad shots anymore? Russ is automatic in the paint on the break. Harden is his usual self and everyone else is taking open shots while Rivers is another ISO king.

I thought shimmy man was on the bandwagon last week. The story writers at BSPN need to keep their analysts on the same page for at least a few weeks at a time. The product would be more believable, but instead you can tell it's all scripted.

That's why I love Clutchfans, we can always have some good discussion and be realistic about our team.

Wilbon just said on PTI that small ball has “zero chance in the playoffs”

Of course he did. Its a good thing he isn't remotely close to being a basketball expert. The more that folks doubt this team the better. We should have plenty of motivation during the playoffs to shut everyone's mouth for good.

I thought the whole “pace slows down” in the playoffs was debunked years ago ? Teams that play fast continue to play fast. A better team can impose their will and slow a team down sometimes but I think that has little to do with playoffs.

But how many teams that have gone small have two former MVPs/ first ballot HOFers in their prime? People are not talking enough about this counting us out. All they talk about is how we can’t match up some big but never how they can’t matchup with our stars. Our chances are just as good as anyone else’s, aside from maybe the bucks but let’s cross that bridge when we come to it.

I wish Nick would have called Antoine out on defining just exactly what a bad shot is. Sure, the team took 50 3s, but they made 23 of them, for 46%. That's fantastic for a night of basketball.

Where, exactly, are the bad shots?

Both RoCo and Carroll went 1-5 from 3, but most of Carroll's triples were in garbage time, iirc.

The doubt about how we perform in the playoffs is real mainly because we don't know what James Harden we're getting. He tends to disappear & stop competing when the series gets all or nothing

He was the king of bad shots so he should know what one is, but none of these dudes know **** that most on this board could debunk so why give them clicks.

It will be more amusing when the rockets get the 2nd or 3rd seed and pushes LAC to 4th against Utah

Harden and CP3 slowed our pace down to a crawl in the playoffs. WB isn’t going to let that happen. He will attack. He’s the perfect fit with Harden. The slow, efficient shooter paired with the fast and reckless finisher. It’s working now and I think it’s going to keep working. We have a legitimate shot now that Crapela’s slow soft ass is gone.

Because for some players, the more you hear something - the more you may start to believe it. The same is true for those in the media who've hopped onto a bandwagon. They sooooo want to see the Rockets fail again that they want the players to know how they feel.

that was the formula to beat GS. however for other team's not so much. You had to limit GS's possessions with how great that team was. Theoretically, there wasn't anyone that could keep up with them and there offense with so many great players. So keeping the ball out of there hands as much as possible was the way to go. There isn't another team like that this year so with how the game has changed, this narrative of things slow down in the playoffs is just the cliche a lot of old heads want to use to discredit what the rockets are doing. Aka the lazy way.

It may slow down in terms of teams playing much more methodical since every mistake is masked in the playoffs. But it's definitely not slowing down in this era where old heads think teams are just going to post up the rockets slowly all game long.

Only against the best team in the history of NBA.

No other team has fielded 5 All Stars, 2 MVPs and 3 Finals MVPs.

No other team has been more competitive and pushed to brink of elimination as consistently as the Rockets.

So that narrative is not only false, but tiresome.
