People need to respect the man, and refer to him as vernon Maxwell.

No nicknames like 'max' or 'mad max', although 'Champ' is probably the most appropriate nick name.

The rockets championship teams was hard-working and fundamentally sound which is why Rudy t didn't need any gimmicks. Basketball fundamentalists.

Shows what you know, everyone who's a Rockets fan and witnessed those championships can call him those nicknames. Just like "Amigo","Chilly Pete"
"O.T.", "Air Bull", "Sleepy Floyd", "Mr. Mean" and of course "Dream" and "Clyde the glide".
They are engrained in our soul and memories we will use them whenever the hell we feel like it. And by the way because you lack understanding on just how Rudy changed the NBA, his move to put Horry at the 4 was considered a Gimmick by many. If you're gonna be a troll least be a somewhat knowledgeable troll.

Westbrook showed a lot of respect to Maxwell. I liked that very much. Lucas is a really cool guy.

I think the Rockets should hire Vernon as an assistant coach.

Hire him to do what? The game has changed so much from the ‘90’s and heart is something one can’t teach. Westbrook was very respectful and kind, hopefully he is like that to all former players.

True, heart can't be taught. He can help with 3 and D.

WB will never be the beast that he was defensively.

    Teaming up is great.

There are lots of trolls spreading their failed cliff notes of Rockets history here
Look at the Rudy T thread where someone starts talking about Popovich and Lakers having lots of money . Those were not reasons why Rudy T left the Rockets.

Maxwell taught Sam Cassell to play the way that
He does . Sam is a great assistant coach and probably a great head coach if got a chance.
Max has been coaching his son who’s got a scholarship to play D 1 ball

It is good to see Brodie treat Mad Max like a brother. During the championship run, one of the Bulls trainer said that Maxwell had the best body for basketball only his head wasn't in the right place. I know Maxwell would tell you he wasn't mature back then. It is great to see him look like the same 25 years ago.

Vernon Maxwell is a champion so I'm sure there are so finer points he could share. Moving without the ball, positioning on the floor in coordination with post players.

If Mike brown had a position then things should be equal opportunity.

Mike brown was too young to be sporting them glasses even as early with popovich and the spurs.

The defense has changed so much over the years. If Mad Max played like yesteryear he would foul out in the first 5 minutes of the game. Plus to my memory, Max was a very streaky shooter, much like E. Gordon. His competitiveness was what made him a fan favorite. (Anyway because one can play doesn’t mean one can coach and vice-versa). I think he is a net positive person, NBA coach IDK. If he can talk like he tweets then his role is a commentator replacement for Clyde. (There is justice here).

Maxwell wasn’t a dumb player cause he had a high temper . He would be a great coach . He’s coaching now anyways with his kids .
Maxwell would break federal rules for language If he was a commentator

Air bull is there, I could’ve made that post a page long with all the nicknames we had. Some got left out but not forgotten by any means.
