Red Sox had health and historically good offense. Astros were already hobbled then got hit with bad calls. Cora will not always make the right calls.

and what was supposed to be our ace was our BP and for the most part they caved but NO ONE and I mean NO ONE was thinking about a loss of culture when we whipped their ass 7-2 in game 1 in their house so OP is waaay off.

I think 2017 were career years for several Astros. Anyone expecting career years every year isn't very lucid. Of course some guys were not going to repeat their 2017 production.

Marwin, Reddick, and Marisnick are the 3 guys who had years they are unlikely to ever repeat. Correa, Springer, and Altuve had really good years, but nothing they either hadn’t already gotten close to doing or couldn’t be expected to repeat. Bregman, Yuli, Gattis, and McCann had average years. Beltran, Fisher, and Aoki had awful years.

Its almost as if they did not play at all last year, win more games than any Astros team in history, and get as close to a championship as any other team in Astros history, except one.

Didn't seem to get the clutch playoff hits like we did in 2017 though.

    Minus:

    game 5 vs the Rays
    game 2 vs the Yankees
    game 3 vs the Yankees
    game 4 vs the Yankees
    game 6 vs the Yankees
    game 3 vs the Nats
    game 4 vs the Nats
    game 5 vs the Nats

2017 had some stinkers that everybody has forgotten: Game 3 vs. Boston, Games 3, 4, 5 against NY, Games 1, 4, 6 against LA.
