Barcelona's horrible terror attack is barely discussed here anymore. Among 14 others murdered, a 7-year old boy got mowed down and killed by Islamist terrorists, who were planning an even larger bloodbath, but some of them blew themselves up accidentally before they could execute their plan.

The leftists are still phantasizing about "socio-economic factors", Mathloom would still blame it on American bases on his "holy soil", and pointing out that the ideology of Islam is behind this will cause leftists and Muslims to call you a Nazi.

    Are we so numb already?

You guys probably didn't even hear about what happened in Turku/Finland, where a "refugee" from Morocco targeted women, stabbed 8 people, killed two.

Or the guy in Surgut/Russia who stabbed 8 people in the name of Islam as well, before he got shot.

It's noticed even less when it happens in Kenya, where three villagers got beheaded by Islamists.

And the fact that a girl gets chopped up with an axe by her family for marrying by choice in Pakistan doesn't even show up on anyone's radar.

These are just a few from the last few days.

It's happening all over the world!!! And the ignorance of leftists who keep making up excuses for the horrible ideology of Islam is helping the Islamists.

Keep talking about "socio-economic factors" and making excuses for the horrible, fascist ideology of Islam. You cannot say you have not been warned.

Yes, these terrorist incidents are absolutely horrible. I would hope that we can start prioritizing new methods to combat these terrorists. The small silver lining is that as you mentioned they were able to disrupt the terrorists plan for a larger attack which was to have used explosives.

Hopefully we can make progress in stopping terrorists and preventing their efforts to carry out more attacks.

The Western world gives up so much to the rest of the world for so little in return. Here you have Western nations spending billions of dollars every year to combat "terrorism" - which is really just radical Islam - and then something like this happens.

Countries like Spain get nothing in return from Morocco, Libya, Iraq, etc.

These countries need to consider increased travel restrictions. They also need to crack down on hate speech coming from these groups, too.

The West has received a lot from these parts of the world from the past 500 years.

Spain gets energy from those countries and have traditionally had large Muslim populations in the southern part.

The issue is you don't have a good grasp of history or don't care about economics. I'm not sure how you can say we get so little in return or maybe it just doesn't fit your narrative.

Maybe if you weren't so insufferable on this topic you'd get some serious discussion -- and stop with the ridiculous buzzwords. The American government is completely controlled by republicans and they have marched forward with the same blueprint Obama used. The only difference is the inflammatory rhetoric that incites more violence among opposing political factions. Above all else remember that you a German -- if your country had been given the opportunity to militarize again we would have already had WWIII.

Because people with jobs and futures are less likely to get wrapped up in extremist ideology....

Because Islam was a hot topic before 9/11.....

It's almost like terrorism has accelerated since 9/11.... I wonder why....

Sorry bro... people like you are terrorists best friend.

Great. The West gets natural resources it can dig out of the ground anywhere in the world, from Muslkm majority countries.

But they still give up everything.

I'm not aware of how much the Western world spends on combating against radical Buddhism and radical Hinduism, but I imagine it's closer to zero dollars than how much is spent combating "terrorism".

Yep. Cheap energy is critical to any modern economy so perhaps you can see a theme here.

You have a very peculiar definition of everything.... almost like you are intentionally being dishonest...

You are aware how much the US has spent in the two wars of choice? Seems like we spend a lot of money kicking over ant piles and a lot of money defending against ants...

That says nothing about how much money the US spent in the Middle East the last 60 years...

People like ATM want everyone to drop everything every moment and declare Islam is evil so he can be a good little German and live up to his great grandparents ideology. Fact is that radicalism is bad. We need people like Trump try to equate Neo-Nazis with the left and blame the left for their actions, we see people like ATM try to blame the left on Islamic fundamentalism.

Reality is that Neo Nazis are fundamentalism. Neo Nazis and Islamic extremism are both right-wing extremists. Maybe it's time the right look in the mirror and realize that the constant vilifying of people is exactly what both the Neo-Nazis and Islamic Terrorists have in common with ATM.

ATW is just scared, like many people who share that view of Islam.

OP, what do you want exactly?

Yes, radical islamists are going to keep killing muslims by the thousands and non-muslims by the dozens and hundreds.

It is all horrible. Nobody here likes it. Having a debate and discussion of every bout of cancer would generate similar amounts of thread enthusiasm.

    Ban Islam?

I can't read his mind, and I don't speak for him; but it is a subject which should be debated.

"Nothing"? Seems like your definition of "everything" from the previous post...

Hyperbole is the hallmark of the simple.

Ban Islam? That sounds pretty defeatist... conceding you are too weak...

You should be more specific on what "Ban Islam" means.

Sadly, it's the people from the left who keep making excuses and who are trying to suppress any discussion of Islam. See: This thread.

Notable exception: Bill Maher, who totally gets it.

Unfortunately, this forum is full of Ben Afflecks.
