Kyle Tucker: Could he be our everyday LF in 2018?

Discussion in 'Houston Astros' started by Shark44, Feb 25, 2018.

?

Is Kyle Tucker ready to be our everyday LF?

  1. No, kid needs some more time in the minors to work on a few things.

  2. Yes, potential is oozing from him, let's get this party started!

  3. Maybe, its still early in Spring Training, let's not hyperventilate over the kind just yet.

So, what will your wife be doing while you and your brother are at the game? :)

I'm going to the game today

Cant wait to see Tuckers debut.

If he's as good as I think he will be this will be a story I can tell my grandkids.

@Rockets FTW...This is coming down to the wire. Marwin (currently at .733) had a great August to get back into the hunt. For your sake (as well as the team's) hopefully his oblique quickly heals.

So, with Marwin's injury (out for the series, still day-to-day and could return for the next series), do you think this means Tucker is on his way soon? Sat out of today's game in AAA, for what it's worth. Could be just an off day. Honestly I don't care how our Minor League teams do in the postseason, all I care about is that the Big League Club is the best it can be, and if we need to take from the AAA roster ahead of their playoff run, then so be it.

probably... Astros are smart given their veterans rest. Going thru a 7 game World Series run last year.

On what planet is it now or never? You don't think the Astros are going to be patient with their best prospect?? Why would it behoove ANYONE in the Astros organization to put that kind of pressure on him, when in reality, we don't need him to succeed this year?

Honestly, if Kyle can't show us something by now, I think the Astros are well within their rights to flat out murder the guy.

Just saw he’s batted .471 with a 1.485 OPS over 17 games in August.

The Astros gave JD Martinez more time so far than Tucker.

    Seriously...?

Bregman, White, and Gurriel all didn't look good in the first 40 games...

I'm totally serious. If he doesn't perform, I fully expect the Astros to end his life and if they don't then I'll send a very harshly worded fax to them informing them of my disappointment.

Calm down. Let him take his time. Still has a lot more time to get things going, and I am confident that once he gets consistent at bats, he will finally break out.

Along with crying, there's obviously no sarcasm in baseball either.

It's too bad he couldn't have stayed on the he team after a hot spring training. While I get why they sent him down, makes me wonder how things would have been different if he had started off in the bigs after having all of that spring training success.
