Wow... I actually had Alou and Trout on there as well initially. But ultimately, Alou never had a meaningful playoff game as an Astro, which is what swayed Berkman for me (and I'm sure that can easily be changed by any of the current Astros as they continue to have playoff success). I get why some have Berkman as their "least favorite" Astro. Yes, he was lazy. Yes, he could have been a HOFer if he had the same work ethic as Biggio/Bagwell. But I've also seen the same sort of lax approach in other professions that actually allows some to excel easier when the stakes are the highest... and nobody can argue against Berkman's post-season success (both as an Astro and a Cardinal). Guys who rise to the occasion, when the moment/pressure is the highest, deserve some credit. And the only reason I took Trout off is because I realized I only like him now when the Angels are non-competitive. If they're in the race, and give us trouble in the H-2-H, I'm going to start to dislike him very very soon.
That’s why I’m worried about Ohtani’s hot start, I don’t want to have to hate Trout if they get too competitive. Alou’s 2000 season, with a slash of .355/.416/.623, a 1.039 OPS and 151 OPS+ seems to be overlooked a lot -I went to a lot of games that year he was fun to watch, super hard out. Bagwell would be my second for fav all time hitter just above Berkman, his 1994 season, even cut short was so batshit crazy - dude slugged .750! If it was most hated all time it would definitely be Kevin Brown/Sterling Hitchcock.
