Houston native. He's older for a prospect, but was super impressive in the game tonight. Had never heard of him before. Thoughts?
http://www.syracuse.com/orangebaske...on_ready_for_first_workout_with_nba_team.html Former Syracuse University basketball player John Gillon will take part in his first workout with an NBA team on Monday. Gillon, a 6-foot-guard, will work out with his hometown Houston Rockets. Gillon confirmed the workout via text message. Gillon said he will have workouts with other teams prior to the NBA's draft on June 22, but didn't want to name the teams because the dates of those workouts haven't been confirmed yet. In addition to his individual team workouts, Gillon will also participate in a pro day for clients of the ASM Sports agency on June 2. The pro day enables ASM players to perform in front of scouts from several teams at the same time. Gillon was a fifth-year graduate transfer at Syracuse last season. He began his college career at Arkansas-Little Rock and then transferred to Colorado State. In his one year at Syracuse, Gillon averaged 10.5 points and a team-high 5.4 assists. He made 41.9 percent of his 3-point attempts and hit 86 percent of his free throws. He broke the school record for most consecutive free throws made with 48. He also scored 43 points in a win over North Carolina State. He hit a last-second 3-pointer to lift Syracuse to an upset of Duke. Gillon is not considered a likely pick in this year's NBA draft. However, he is working out for teams in hopes of gaining an invitation to play with an NBA team in the summer league. Summer league exposure often helps players who are hoping to sign with international teams.
