Good chance he gets our MLE....It is either him or Gerald.

I think your discounting each player's contribution to an offensive and defensive possession. Yes, Trevor Ariza and PJ Tucker may not directly contribute to a successful Harden/Capela P&R, but their threat to hit an open shot is what creates the space to make the play happen. On defense, the same could be said. Harden misses an assignment causing Ryno to help. The ball is then passed to his man who dunks. Ryno's man scored, but it's ultimately Harden's fault.

I'm a firm believer of every play serving a purpose when they're out there. If one is not in line, you're either attacking 4 on 5 or defending 4 on 5, er go, +/- is valid.

I love Gerald, but there's no way he gets the MLE ahead of LMAM. Luc is just an all-around better player than Gerald. I can see Gerald taking a long-term Vet. Min. type deal to stay in Houston for the rest of his NBA days.

You could just run up and down the court and not touch the ball for 5 minutes and be +15. This is why it is an over rated stat. You just have to be lucky to be out there when your team outscores the other team the most

If Harden doesnt win MVP this year, then F**k the media. Its a popularity contest and watch then hand it to LBJ if they get top seed over the Raptors.

Check Cowherd's reaction after Harden's 60 point triple double and you will change your mind on lots of the craps he said.

His words are nothing but craps which means sh't.

Hate to break it to you, but that's just not how basketball works. It's a team game, and even if you stand in the corner for a quarter and don't take a shot while the team succeeds, it's the spacing that opens up opportunity for other players.

That’s not what that mean at all. In fact, players with high +/- scores without scoring tend to be good at creating posessions via rebounds, steals or some other reason.

The whole idea of +/- is that a team mate scoring may not actually be doing the heavy lofting. The prince is a good example of someone with consistently great player, but no scoring. His +/- reflects that.

Sometimes you just need to be lucky to be playing with some great team mates. Andre Robertson is the perfect example of being lucky with +/- as he has team mates who can score....because he can't

+32 in his last game of the season

lol "spacing", not really spacing if a defender doesn't cover you and you still don't get the ball. Like Andre Robertson, players don't cover him often

Robertson was a game high +32 in his last game. I'm pretty sure it wasn't his spacing that led to that number

That also doesn’t prove your point buddy. Do you think Andre gets playing time because he’s lucky? (Hint: that’s wrong)

Of course it wasn't his spacing, he's a terrible shooter. What I am damn sure of is that he influenced that +/- by guarding the opposing teams best player. That can lead to offense as well. Errant/contested shots often ignite fast breaks, indirectly helping the offense.

You can twist the stat to polarizing players all you want, and yes, each player has varying degrees of how they affect performance, but you cannot deny that each player on the floor has an impact on how their team performs.
