So i'm in the process of new car shopping, either going with the honda civic coupe or the mazda3. I love black cars but on the mazda the red really stands out. My gf thinks it's a girls color but should get what i want anyways. figured i'd get a mass opinion here. anyone here has either of those cars and wants to comment on them, that'd be great as well. i really enjoyed the test drive on both of them.
I wouldn't argue with someone who said red is a girl car color. I would never get red for myself...but not because it might be a girl's color. I think the dark gray Civic looks great. My friend has one. quality-wise, the Mazda can't touch the Civic. when in doubt, always go with the Civic.
I was intent on buying a red volvo, but they didn't have one in stock with the leather interior cover that i wanted.
thanks for the input guys. yeah i have a civic and it's nearing 144,000 miles and the only work it's ever needed was a new distributor and an oxygen sensor. honda equals reliability as far as i'm concerned. i love the way the new civic looks but i just test drove the mazda3 and it's slightly more hp and torque makes a gigantic difference. the reviews on the mazda have also been every bit as good as the civic, though i have no history with their cars. right now it's 07 black civic coupe vs 07 red mazda3.
Only if you bought a Miata, Jetta, Mini, or one of those puny cars. Then the issue goes beyond color.
If you are in the market for a small car, I think you should consider a Hyundai Elantra. My friend has one and its super. It cost him only 16k, but it has the features of a 20k+ car.
yeah the red looks nice but i love the black honda. i realize mazda isn't honda or toyota but it's not mitsubishi either. i haven't heard it amongst the brands people tend to bad-mouth.
no i didn't like the looks on that one. i want something atleast sporty looking and both the honda and the mazda are that price as well.
I've been tearing down I-10 west inside the loop at 85 mph with my expired-in-May inspection--no worries. Famous last words.
