There is absolutely no reason to rush Springer back into the lineup. Let him get completely healed then give him another week.
As much as I hate to say it, Springer will probably need more time. That type of injury needs closer to a month than a week in my experience.
Awesome...I'm taking my 7 year old son to his first ML game on Saturday, and George is his favorite player. He'll be pumped that he's supposed to be back by then!
What's up with Lance McCullers III's dad? I haven't heard a peep in weeks. Is he on assignment somewhere? Just resting? Working on bullpen sessions? Has there ever been any "official" word on his malady? Did he sleep on it wrong? Does he have a new cologne, and can Mike Napoli come smell it? Anyone? Anything?
Threw a bullpen yesterday. No word yet on the outcome. Will require multiple rehab starts. I had guessed in another thread that he'll be back for series against the Mets on Sept 1-3 or the next one @ the Mariners.
I have McCullers in fantasy baseball. He was reported to have thrown bullpens Weds and Thurs. He and Hinch didn't talk comment about the sessions except to say they would wait to see how he felt the next day.
It's a testament to the organizational depth that the Astros have been able to stay afloat with all the injuries they have had. Sort of unbelievable when you look at the full DL sheet over the last couple of months.
Good outings by the guys at Corpus Sipp (1 IP, 2k, 1bb) Harris (1 IP, 1k) Feliz (1 IP, 1k, 1bb) Gattis behind the plate and is 0-1 with 2 bbs's and a run through 6. I wonder if the impending storm is going to put a kink in the plans to have Correa get work in there later this week. Fresno will be @ El Paso starting next Monday. I wonder if they'll wait for that if Harvey becomes a problem.
