Evidently I didn't realize Sneed had been sent down. So, unless there is an injury, he can't be recalled

I'm sure they can find some discomfort with someone.

What’s going to happen with Correa though. By putting him on the 60 day to facilitate bringing Smith back, it means he is still 11 days away from rejoining the big club.

Most rehabs I have seen tend to be 2-4 games at AA or AAA, then they get activated. What is the likely plan here with Correa?

At this point Luhnow is just trying to kick the can as close to the trade deadline as he can without losing any more players for nothing. I would rather have an extras few days of Correa versus Deetz,Guduan or Rodgers so I don't really agree with it, but I'm pretty sure that's Luhnow's mindset.

White is more or less glued to the team until Diaz is back. Once he is back it fills the void of needing a second trained 1B, which means White is expendable.

Still think Straw will be sent down when Diaz comes back. And Kemp has been getting VERY little playing time, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he were DFA when Correa comes back, although it probably will be White.

As weird as it all sounds, it's all true.

The Astros clearly prefer Straw at SS over anyone else besides Bregman.

Yuli has all of a couple of innings at SS, I believe, in his career. Kemp doesn't play there at all. Tyler White did play it some in the minors and could likely be put there in an emergency.

What exactly is wrong with the article?

Altuve has 4 innings at SS in the majors. :)

I guess how weird it sounded as you said. And my own biases and keyboard trigger fingers. Particularly, I tend to presume that a guy that's spent most of his life in the infield is going to be easier to shift around to different infield positions. So, Yuli seemed like he'd be able to hack it at SS more than Straw coming in from the outfield. Of course, you want Straw to come in and play SS, because you need a backup SS, and you have too many outfielders. He looks like he's rapidly improving at it since I wrote my original comment as well.

I guess I also presumed that Kemp could, if necessary, slide over to SS since he has the second base experience. White moving over to a highly mobile position...eh, that was low-hanging fruit. Honestly, I think he does a pretty bang-up job at 1st. He just can't get his bat going, but he's actually made more than his fair share of pretty impressive plays over there.

Really, more than anything, I'm looking through the lens of someone that's played every single position, even catcher, but usually SS, 3rd, or 2nd. I'm that guy that says "I'll play wherever you need me *coughshortstoppleasecough*." CLEARLY, that makes me as knowledgeable as a World-Series-winning manager.

After Mad Dog's over-the-top reaction to the Marisnick situation, I kind of wish the Astros would blackball him from interviews haha.
