Somehow I think this thread will be needed in the coming months, particularly since Nancy Pelosi has appointed Ilhan Omar to the House Foreign Relations Committee.

CNN doesn't know what to do about Omar's anti-Semitism or her conspiracy theories.

"CNN’s coverage of Omar is at best described as two swings and two misses. This sad showing is right on par with the New York Times, which is doing its best to downplay Omar’s anti-Semitic record. Most of the establishment press seems similarly incurious about why scores of liberal groups––now including the Democratic National Committee––are bailing on a Women’s March plagued by claims of anti-Semitism."

I don't see disliking the actions of Israel as anti-semitism. One tweet isn't much to go on for me, but I'm guessing there is more in depth writings by her out there.

    Hmmmm...

I think that being "against the State of Israel's policies and practices" is a whole lot different than being "against Israel".

    Agree? No?

sure. let's just say I think there's a right way and a wrong way (or better and worse ways) to criticize the State of Israel.

Here's an example of a better/more constructive way to go about it.

fwiw here's what the Wiesenthal Center has had to say recently on the subject

Omar's home town paper takes her to task for a separate "unforced error."

"If Omar doesn’t care about Graham’s reputation, she should care about what disregard for the truth does to her standing on Capitol Hill. Who will trust her? Who will want to work with her? Hamstringing her career so soon would be a real shame. The Star Tribune Editorial Board differs from Omar on a number of issues, but she has a formidable intellect, and her persuasive eloquence has the potential to move legislation.

"A Republican, former Rep. Michele Bachmann, was taken to task a number of times in these pages, including for her 'foolish attack on vaccines,' her support for a brutal crackdown by an Egyptian dictator, and her worries about anti-Americans stalking the halls of Congress. Bachmann’s careless words undermined her political career, and in particular made it difficult for her to pass legislation. Her mistakes should not be repeated.

"The Editorial Board did not endorse Omar, but she can be an effective, influential leader. More care with her future communications will serve her — and Minnesota — well."

    Bit looney in Minnesota.

Spreading unfounded internet errors against political opponents is not the way to conduct politics

Just another instance of people irrationally having Israel's dick in their mouths.

They have become an infallible entity. It's so frightening to think that anything less than considering a nation-state like Israel as an infallible entity is considered as anti-Semitic.
