Yes, please get all your required Vax's (and flu shot).. Gotta get more herd immunity since Dr Jenny Mccarthy brought back the Measles
I didn't mean to be harsh. It's just: good for you if you didn't get sick. Most people sans flu shot, will not get the flu every year. Otherwise, we would have a pandemic every year. But if you do get the shot, you reduce your risk, sometimes by a lot, sometimes by a little. And the good thing is if you do reduce your chance, you're actually protecting the more vulnerable members of your community, like oldsters and children. Selfishly, I usually get it b/c I deal with hundreds of students from all over the world, and it seems like a lot of them are sick every year. But I get it, non-selfishly, so that I have a better chance of being able to visit my elderly parents without taking them a virus that, for them, could be lethal. Cheers, all. And again, good for you if you don't get the flu and don't get the shot. But it's not really a big deal. Most humans shouldn't be getting it every year. LOL.
I got a flu shot and I still got very sick from the flu. However, I did not get the AIDS. So ultimately it was a win.
Getting sick after getting the shot means working. Getting a cold for a few days after getting a shot is NOT the flu.
Spoiler: Science! Huh, ok. I have honestly never had a flu shot, I've never had the flu. I don't get sick (I get one honking, proper, sinus infection sometime every January, I blame the the damn kids who show up for Xmas), I just break joints/bones/ligaments/etc... I'm 43, all my older people I'm around get a flu shot every year. Is my not getting a shot putting someone else at risk? (ala MMR?)
Wash your hands all the time and avoid making contact with your mouth and eyes. Also, drink lots of oj.
The article said there is a mismatch on the other side of the earth. Said nothing of the US. Talked about 4 cases in UK. It's possible that the main flu strain has changed again for the US and there could still be a good match. It has so far been a quiet flu season in the US.
You're wrong but its ok. http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/07/health/flu-vaccine-mmwr-cdc-reports/index.html December 6th- from the article about the 20 year old dying from the flu this year;
Don't confuse the flu with a common chest cold. Many people who get a cold call it the flu, but they are mistaken. The flu will knock you on your ass hard.
