    HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander takes great pride in the fact he has never allowed a player to leave his organization that he wanted to keep and when it comes to forward Chandler Parsons, Alexander plans to have him around for a long time.

Parsons is in the third year of a four-year contract that will pay him $926,500 this season, making him one of the best bargains in sports.

Alexander told FOX 26 Sports the Rockets will, at some point, work out a long-term deal with Parsons.

"We won't lose anybody," Alexander said. "We never do.

"He'll be here. We'll sign Chandler. We always do. Nobody's ever left. He's an integral part of the team. We don't want to let a terrific player go."

Rockets officials meet with Louisville leaders
    Published: Sunday, May 14, 2000
    Associated Press
LOUISVILLE, Ky. From the boardroom to the racetrack, political and business leaders promoted Louisville as a potential new home for the Houston Rockets as team representatives looked over the city Saturday.

A group of local and state leaders met privately with George Postolos, the Rockets' chief operating officer, and Michael Goldberg, the personal attorney for team owner Les Alexander.

Gov. Paul Patton was among those attending the meeting at the headquarters of Tricon Global Restaurants, the parent company of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC. Patton said it was too early to evaluate the chances of luring an NBA team to Louisville.

"Everyone agrees it would be desirable," Patton said. "We have only begun to evaluate whether it's feasible."

Cuban broke up a championship team the summer after winning.

    He gave Parsons the max.

    He's an idiot.

Man Les has been willing to spend throughout his tenure with the Rockets.

I mean if Cuban was owner, Barkley probably wouldn't hate us but who knows what happened between the two of them.

Mavs team is not business for Cuban, it's passion. He would spend any amount on superstars.

    Le$... need I say more?

Cuban is not the GM though... right?
Does he actually make basketball decisions?

Well Cuban is one of the most involved owners. Another reason why I really do prefer Les.

Yeah, you do. You need to explain how Les doesn't spend on stars.

Cuban got rid of Tyson Chandler the year after getting a ring.

Yeah he most definitely has a say. Say what you will about Cuban, but he's a blast. I'd be an obnoxious prick behind the Rockets bench if I had that much money.

Seriously Tin, put down the gun and no one gets hurt. Let it go. Why are you on the hate all of a sudden. Cuban didn't put that team together, he was just smart enough to get some one who could and got lucky enough to draft Dirk. Donnie doesn't have half the brain his daddy did.

    http://keepingscore.blogs.time.com/...al-in-china-really-help-houstons-bottom-line/

After drafting Yao, Rockets owner Leslie Alexander founded Rocket Capital, a private investment company that “specializes in investments in emerging markets with a strong focus on the Greater China region.” Rocket Capital has invested in Chinese railway, auto, tea, and mining companies, among others; it has also poured millions into the Hong Kong’s IPO and equity markets. With Lin on board, and Yao maybe opening some doors, Alexander could gain access to more opportunities in China that could further benefit the franchise financially.

The fact that the Rocket brand is a big deal in China makes Jeremy Lin more valuable to the team,” says George Postolos, the Rockets president and CEO from 2002-2006 who now holds the same positions with the Houston Astros. “The Rockets aren’t starting from scratch. Adding Jeremy Lin to the picture is a natural extension of what they’ve done.

Who's the Maverick's coach? Is he better than our coach?

Cuban certainly made many mistakes. But you can't deny the fact that the Mavs was a mess before he took over and have been on the map ever since.

The Rockets on the other hand was irrelevant two years after the second championship until we got Harden.

That said, there's no way to know what would have happened if they switched places. The only thing for sure is that Cuban is much funner than Les.

Morey > Cuban. Les hired Morey. Les correctly predicted all teams would move in the same direction.

Cuban is willing to spend more, Les is very thrifty. Les stays behind the scenes.

And the Rockets got Dwight because Dwight didn't like playing with Kobe.

This isn't baseball, every team in the NBA has a salary cap and every team can pay for stars.
