That tax bill yesterday is a knife to this country. It robs this country to respond to crisis and will balloon our deficit already at its highest level percentage wise since the 50's even further - while we are in a boom.

Income inequality will increase as the rich become noble men who pass on their titles to their first born while they are serviced by effectively indentured servants without even the ability to afford health care.

It's a self-inflicted stab wound that will result in an economic collapse. This story has been written before and you idiots who think it's a good thing will eventually pay a price.

Just curious have you read the entire bill front to back or are you just going by what you have heard?

For the record I have not read it.

OP, you are reacting prematurely. The bills must be reconciled...

... so lobbyists will get another chance to make it even worse for America. :D

Of course you haven't no one can read it 490 of crap in a few hours.

But let's not be naive. We all know what in it and the non-partisan analysis shows it will increase our deficit by a TRILLION dollars - this ballooning deficit that Republicans was argued was such a great threat when Obama was trying to lift us out of the Great Recession. Now, instead of reducing the deficit - this dangerous threat the right once claimed it was, we are increasing it.

So I am just agreeing with the right when it said the deficit was going to bankrupt the country. Were they lying 8 years ago?

And neither as a single Republican senator.

    So what's your point again?

History has largely already forgotten the fiscal irresponsibility of the Obama administration who literally doubled the national debt. Given that both parties support fiscal irresponsibility, I don't think that any partisan has any room to whine about fiscal irresponsibility.

I have a blind hope all gets by while everyone else tries to get theirs.

The tax cuts could get undone with 60 Democrat votes in five years but neither party is willing to show any backbone to reform the tax system.

Common action these days is that if there is a collapse, last thing to do would be to increase taxes. I guess that means we're going to try to kick some other country's ass for that other prevailing thought of "stimulus". Serves as a nice distraction for American people suffering too...at the expense of others maybe, but the Constitution didn't guarantee that as a right.

Best thing learned about the Great Recession is that those terrible breadlines are no more. Food stamps and lone star cards baby. Too bad no one gives a **** about numbers. Bernie Bros like that it allows them feel dignified. The 'silent minority' can't count beyond their fingers to understand 10 to the ninth power.

Today is bad, but the music is still playing. This is just continuing an era.Hooray for unlimited fiat money. Hooray for owning a trillion dollar military industrial complex. If they want their payments, they'll have to come and take it.

The Dems will never have 60 votes to undo this monstrous idiocy. The right just talks about how much the deficit increased under obama not realizing he inherited a trillion dollar debt from Bush (which they didn't complain about) and an economic collapse.

You are dreaming if you don't see that the next time the economy collapses, we might have the means to pull out of it.

My point is how do Republicans know it is good or bad? Or anyone? They just vote on it guessing? They don't read it either.

Shouldn't you be more concerned that the people actually voting it in haven't read it?

    Rationally speaking of course.

I think what's funny/extremely sad is that the vast majority of right supporters will be hurt pretty bad by these fiscal plans. The most affluent states are blue. Jobs won't come back because taxes are lower. Human resources are still cheaper and more competitive abroad. Trickle down economics has never proven to work well. The divide between rich and poor has consistently widened. This is a lobbyist play and that's all. Sad day for all those poorer, easily influenced Republican voters out there who continuously get duped by their leaders.

You can conclude that it's good or bad without reading the entire thing. At the least, from a personal POV. If you are a Texan and have more than 3 people in your household, then you know removing the personal exemption and capping state taxes (which property taxes fall under) is bad for you.

The government is too big. Starve the beast!

    Starve the beast!

    Starve the beast!

But if the economy collapses, the government is strong enough to save everyone...
