    Cleverly disguised one-liner Melo thread.

(Good job by Harden to help the kids.)

"He wants to win at this point (of his career)"

He better want that at the vet min and off the bench.

I think that if the Rockets win the Championship that Harden should let Cp3 and Melo cut of his beard. In a auction with the money going to disabled children. With all the millionaires we have in Houston it would make Harden rated with the sport greats in Houston history.

I get the spirit of that comment, but no way. You hear the story of Sampson? Besides, on a more practical level, it's his brand, and assists with his poker face on the court.

Hope Melo himself shows us how much he wants to win by coming off the bench.

I really don't understand these posts. So if he comes off the bench you guys are guaranteed champs? Thats just ridiculous.

Not what I'm implying. If he accepts a bench role, it shows to me that he's willing to make sacrifices for the greater good of winning. I don't question Melo's talent or fit with our team. It's the ego that concerns me the most. Let's say we start Melo and things aren't going particularly well with the team. MDA will have to make adjustments such as opting to bring Melo off the bench. If Melo isn't okay with it and throws a fit, it'll just mess with the team chemistry.

It aint that deep. The media and people who are thinking like you are kinda overdoing this whole needs to come off the bench thing.

Its more about how he fits into the system. Paul/Harden will be on the court at all times, him meshing with them two is more important than whether he starts or not.

Him locking in defensively and on the glass is more important than whether or not he starts.

Chris Paul will do wonders for him, he trusts him, respects him and Paul knows what Melo can do.

The whole bench thing is getting out of hand. Again its about style of play and blending it all together.

As a Melo stan, you of all people should know how important starting is to Melo. People are making it a big deal because IT IS a big deal. I don't know if it's best for him to start or come off the bench but I do know that he needs to be open to any ideas if he really "wants to win". That's all I'm saying.

    No read what I'm writing.

Whether he starts or not isn't going to determine how successful the season is going to be.

His style of play, adjusting that to the scheme and then modifying the scheme some to fit in his game are the keys.

You don't just bring him in and start him or put him on the bench. Thats why it didn't work in OKC, they had no plan.

So again the whole he HAS to come off the bench isn't the thing because the success will be determined by how he fits into the team schematically not whether or not he's in player introductions.
