Of all the owners he built that team piece by piece. He was willing to take on bad contracts and willing to take risks. I think he the best owner in the NBA. Man I wish he would have bought the astros or rockets.

The guy is a fan, and has some serious passion.

    He deserves it.

If the guy weren't such a pompous douche. I'd be able to see his passion as an owner.

    He's still a douchebag.

he's still a douche but he's done what we all wish we could do. take over our favorite team and do whatever it takes to win a championship. i can respect that.

i'm even happy for most of the players and coaches except for terry and dirk. overall its much better than miami winning.

I'm not happy for the players, but I agree with your comments about Cuban. He took them out of the dark days.

    He got it done, though...

AND he kept his mouth shut the entire playoffs. That has to count for something

I want to see the morey riders justify the mavs payroll. Even when the rockets were "contenders" they never had the quality of players the mavs have or had.

I thought it was kinda cool that he didn't even want to be interviewed, wanted his guys to have their moment. Nice dig by Carlisle. :p

Wow, so it's Morey's fault he didn't inherit a roster with Dirk? And instead inherited a roster where Yao went down both years in which he played, T-Mac quit the 2nd year, and both became non-existent in years 3 and 4?

I know you don't like Morey, but to blame him for not having Dirk or a #5 pick(young player who became the centerpiece for the Kidd trade) is kind of out there.

I would qualify as a Morey rider in your eyes. And I agree. We never had the talent Mavs have. Yeah, it's kind of hard to do so when your superstars are never healthy.

I wish Les Alexander were more of a pompous douche. Our championships keep getting harder and harder to recall.

Cuban is a great owner, especially when compared with someone like Les Alexander.

hate him for his attitude, but its because he actually loves his team.

He deserves it, don't know how much the guy shelled out.

    Very true.

And he's been on his best behavior throughout this playoff run, insisting on making it about the coaches/players rather than himself.

I looooooooooove seeing the Mavs lose and a large part of that is seeing Cuban be totally devastated. Still, as an owner he is awesome. With him at the helm you know money is rarely an issue, it's all about winning.

He built a contender, but he still made a bunch of idiotic moves where he took on **** contracts and wash-outs like Jamison and Walker and traded younger guys like Devin Harris.

With a little patience he could have added another superstud to go along with Dirk and could have built a dynasty.
