This is terrible news. He was poised for a great season off the bench. That said, I have faith that he'll heal before the end of the season and that he'll be back to help our guys out in the playoffs.

    Get well soon Gerald!!!

Damn. That sucks. Feel bad for Gerald. I don't understand why the Rockets continue to think it's necessary to misrepresent injuries, but it is what it is.

Strictly basketball, though...not a bad thing for Houston. If this means more Thabo/Rivers minutes, the defense gets a huge boost, and I think McLemore can fill his role just fine. Can't possibly be a worse defender or passer than Gerald.

Lastly...this pretty much ensures we will need to pay the tax this season. Really glad we penny pinched to duck it. Sorry Tilman.

Luol Deng, Mbah A Moute, Corey Brewer come to mind as possible replacements. Could inquire about Justin Anderson. If Austin is going to take Geralds Minutes we could also inquire about Jaal Crawford. We could also hope Iggy changes his mind about LA

I have felt bad for the Rockets medical team for years now, their competence seemed so mysterious.

I feel bad for him. Dude is a true Houstonian hooper.

Fortunately for the Rockets he is replaceable production wise.

Its unfortunate for Gerald he was a great locker room presence and stanned hard for Houston which made him a fan favorite.

That being said his production on the floor though can be replaced hopefully by McLemore/Thabo/House. IMO Green was trusted by MDA which is a huge plus, but he was blinders the moment he came in. He had one of the worst shot selections in the league and made so many bad mistakes. I feel too many people overlooked his poor "bball IQ" because of his over the top love for Houston. If he isn't on one of his 6-9 from 3 shooting nights then he is a net negative on the court. Those "on-fire" nights were less frequent though this past season.

That being said it does suck for Green - his locker room presence was huge and he genuinely loved playing for the Rockets. The work he does in the city of Houston imo is the biggest contribution he has made to the franchise and should be commended more and hopefully mirrored by the other players on the team.

Are we eligible for a disabled player exception on this?
