Somehow the best save percentage in baseball over the past 2 seasons, just 1 blown save in 45 opportunities. In non save opportunities he continues to be an enigma but he does have a 1.67 ERA this year.
I’d forgotten about Adrian Houser. Dude is looking very formidable from the mound... Milwaukee absolutely won that trade. Houser, Hader, Dominguez, and Brett Phillips was a legit prospect. Even though Fiers wasn’t on the playoff roster the year they won the World Series, he led the team in innings pitched for the regular season with 153+ innings. Definitely was solid... Hey when life gives you lemons you make lemonade.
This year, he's pitched very well. Last season, especially early, he didn't even though he wasn't blowing save opportunities.
Poster must have meant Domingo Santana - he put up a great season (.875 OPS with 30 HR), and then a sub par one and got traded for spares.
Correa switching to the agent ARod told him to use, so we can probably safely use this thread for anything Correa related.
Just commented on this in the injured Astros thread. What an eye roll of a situation with Correa. I saw that news and said- "out!"
I don’t expect Correa back, the dude is going to get paid some major mula. He’s so talented, he might find himself in a similar situation like Trout, where he’s an all world on an inferior team.
Oh I just realized that Cy Sneed who pitched last night in relief of Miley was the return for Villar back in 2015. Though Villar has had himself quite a solid career and an even more impressive season. He along with Happ and Goose (who was traded for Brett Wallace) were the beginning of replenishing the farm system after years and decades of neglect. Hence we are still feeling the effects of the Roy Oswalt trade....
Wow, good for him. Dude's been grinding on minor league wages for 8 years to get this chance. He's had a hell of a year in AAA.
