There is still hope he can help us win the World Series. Just look at Josh Fields' contribution to our WS title last year. I'm not sure we could have done it without him.
Former Astros farmhand Richard Rodriguez is throwing really well for the Pirates: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-pirates-have-won-the-lottery/
Moran is steadily finding his niche. I’m glad he’s finding success at the ML level. And I hope he keeps it up. Props to him for making the adjustments to be relevant in MLB when his prospect stock was down in 2015 and 2016. If not for his hard work and dedication, he would not have been a centerpiece in the Cole trade...
With Bergman and Correa we had no where to put him for several years. And the return we got ain’t too shabby. I’m ok with it
I felt pretty good about Moran becoming a good MLB hitter after last season. He really seemed to be putting it together finally. But a player of Cole's caliber wasn't gonna be free. Frankly, it is a good thing for our regime if guys we trade work out. Trades that work out for all parties make teams more confident dealing with you in the future. Aside from the LOL's there no benefit of everybody we trade sucking. Granted you don't wanna give away too many good MLB players.
He got 1 out in the 8th, then gave up a.walk and a single and was pulled. He had 10 Ks and was only at 85 pitches at that point. The surprising part is he’s still only 27... feels like he was here ages ago.
Would not be shocked if he became a decent MoR SP for the next few years. He was badly rushed imho; his stuff and polish were nowhere near justifying him to come up at 20.
After so much promise and a great swing, Jon Singleton is out of the organization. It’s been a while coming, so truly no surprise. But a reminder of how prospects, no matter how talented can drop like lead weights.
Loose interpretation of MLB Star, but Carlos Gomez says Latin players targeted by drug tests. Maybe he should tell Ryan Braun that. https://sports.yahoo.com/carlos-gom...om-targets-older-latin-players-170350540.html To his point though, Latin players are usually under more suspicion due to their trips back home.
There goes those Astros cheating again -Bauer I met Jon at the Galleria a few years ago. He was happy to be noticed.
