According to Feigen, "Chris Paul is expected back at the end of the week, either Friday against the Raptors or Sunday against the Magic."
No clue what to think. He looked pretty bad before he got hurt. Obviously glad to have him back but also fearful. If he comes back and isn’t a superstar it basically ruins the next four years
At this point, imo, I'd rather he wait till he's 1,000% sure. I'm not saying this timeline isn't that, but just a comment. Rockets aren't getting #1 and absent some tanks by the nuggets aren't getting #2. So they should try and position themselves for seeds #3, #6 or #7. I'd rather be 6/7 than 4, home court advantage or not.
@Codman mentioned that CP3 had been looking good in practice. I think it is safe to say that they will bring him back when they feel he is 110%. They might have felt he was good to go a few games ago...but were still holding off to be sure.
They're 2 games int he loss column behind the Thunder. The real difficulty won't be getting the 3 seed, it'll be the likely fact it will still be all bunched up at season end, and 1 game might be the difference between 3 and 4/5, or even 3-6. You can't "really" control seeding entirely, but to the extent you'd want to, and you would want to, they need to go on another solid win-streak run and try and really nail down #3....
Its not just Thunder, other teams want #3 too because Nuggets are just a regular season team. Nuggets have two more games at Oakland, California.
House wants remainder of MLE? After a handful of games as a serviceable role player... That’s the equivalent of giving Jerome James his contract after a few post season good games or more familiarly K Cato after preseason. Morey will not bite.
At this point, I just want a fully healthy squad heading into the playoffs. We've shown that we can beat GS both at home, and on the road in the playoffs, so seeding isn't really a concern of mine. We just need health, and another wing, and we'll be good to go.
Yup...he doesn't need to play more than that. Looks like 5 more back to backs left. @denver, @Utah @Charlotte, v. Miami @Dallas, v. Charlotte @Atlanta, @Memphis @Sacramento, @Clippers
If Morey can get us a solid forward in trade and CP3 can play like he did last season, we can easily get the #3. Thunder have by far the most difficult schedule in the NBA to end the season.
Yeah, the goal should be getting the #3 seed with the assumption that GSW is #1 and DEN is #2. You want to be on the DEN side of the bracket. You don't want to be in the 4/5 matchup and THEN face GSW in the second round. Right now, it is ALLLL about the #3 seed. And thus, have to ward off OKC and PDX. Those 2 teams. And the Rockets have lost the tie breaker with PDX.
