Probably the final nail in the coffin for Goodell. Goodell will be gone within a year, and the next CBA will NOT give the Commissioner such sweeping emperor-like powers to capriciously ignore what happens in the legal system, so they can just 'do their own investigations and disregard the work of actual investigators'. Bye bye Roger.
And people wonder why that ole geezer in Dallas is leading a group to stall the extension coming Goodell's way.
Didn't the prosecutor believe that there was some physical violence that occurred but didn't believe they had enough to convict?
The investigators found the girl's story inconsistent enough and fishy enough to decide that there was no case to pursue. Whether or not anything ever got physical between them, it was clear that she was out for revenge, and was absolutely not above having either made the alleged bruises herself, or having her 'boob job pal' do it for her. When an investigator says a story was 'inconsistent', that translates into 'she was lying' about at least parts of it. Meaning, any defense attorney would have shredded their case, and prosecutors determined that it was a case they would lose if they pursued it. The NFL, being a tyrannical monarchy which is not bound by any law other than The Holy CBA, and the God of PR, was under no such constraints. They dropped the ball in the Ray Rice situation, and this just happens to be the case they decided to use to make an 'example' out of a high-profile player, to show all of them that the league 'means business' when it comes to domestic violence. Problem is, they picked a terrible case to make an example of, because everyone knows this girl was not honest, and that the charge against Elliot were dubious at best. Unlike when Rice was shown on video punching his wife, there exists no such evidence against Elliot. The NFL has made one terrible decision after another in this case, and it's going to cost Goodell his job.
Not so fast again.... Suspended Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott is seeking an emergency injunction in his legal case to stay his six-game ban. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...of-ezekiel-elliott-suspension-pending-appeal/
...and then the NFL will suspend him again after the week, go to the courts, he can play again, suspended again, can play again, suspended again, can play again,...
97 yards on 24 carries. the biggest question is why not run it after the witten catch? that's the season and maybe some of the coaching jobs?
The best coaches are those that don't try to get cute down by the goal line (see J J Watt try in the backfield).
