Impressive win by Philly. For the second game in a row, Philly just takes the game from the Heat. Simmons and Embiid have poise beyond their years.
Major props to the Miami Heat. Taking into account Whiteside's worthlessness, they can't really play any better than that. They rattled the Sixers with physical, intense play and controlled the game until near the end of the 3rd quarter when fatigue wouldn't allow them to continue the hyperactivity. Once the game slowed down for the Sixers, it was over. The talent gap was just too big. Still, when the Sixers went up by 6 late, Dwyane Wade became the hero and Heat wouldn't go away. Ben Simmons is such a beast at 21 years-old. James Johnson may be a tough guy and all, but getting into Simmons face is not a good idea. He can't be intimidated. The Heat are the perfect team to give the Sixers a strong taste of playoff basketball while not being good enough to beat them. Embiid can round into form and hopefully hit stride for a more difficult 2nd round matchup.
Miami is a very good team, very well coached and playing with very good emotion. This series has been very close, Miami with big leads late in two of their losses. The difference is Ben Simmons. His basketball IQ is transcendent. Kobe Bryant recently said it best about Simmons- by sitting a year and studying the game, he "figured it out" and the game is just "slowed down" to him. Simmons is an other-worldly superstar, and he is a very likable one at that. Well spoken, mature, kind, just fantastic. I don't care if it is called a "man crush"- Simmons is a guy I would pay to watch.
Stay tuned on how "likable" Ben Simmons is. Give it some time. Right now, we're all loving what he does on the floor. Watching superstars bloom is fun.
